DieRuhe: Well, turns out my cavity wasn't as bad as expected, so it can probably just be filled and that's that.
On the other hand, the tooth in front of it seems to have a dying nerve, so it's either take it out or get a root canal and crown. Since I'm not made of money, it'll have to be the first option. No, this did not make me happy, but it's tied to the first entry. :-)
Tarnicus: As someone who is about to get either all of their remaining upper or all teeth removed (17 of them left), remembering how much I stressed out and was upset about one front tooth snapping off and reading this post had me smile. It may change the way you speak, it may change your appearance, it may change how you feel about yourself, but when you can give a toothless grin and realise you are still "you", you might find a new reason to smile :)
I received an awesome compliment for my reviews and writing ability from the books editor of a newspaper, and was told he would go to bat for me in trying to get me to be an "outside reviewer" with pay (since I don't actually work there).
edit: I hate how if you respond to one post and then create a new post in the same thread, it seems to shove them together, since that second one has nothing to do with what I was replying to.
