Got The witcher 1 as a gift some Days ago.
After upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 I had lots of issues with the tools I'm working with (newer tools tend to break old scripts/code). Fortunately I was able to fix all of them step by step. So I'm happy now :D
Yesterday, I was informed by my manager that I was going to have my hours cut back at work. Currently, my wife is not working, so this news was terrible.

Today, my manager told me that, instead of cutting back my hours, they were going to assign me to another project that could possibly mean getting more hours. On top of that, my wife found out that she has a job interview tomorrow! Needless to say, I am relieved and overjoyed.

Now, back to buying games in the GOG Summer Sale! :P
A festive reception where my psychiatrist said goodbye, after 13 years she seeks a new challenge with another team in another mental health care institution. It was obvious she was beloved by both staff and 'patients' (I prefer the term client, but I don't know if that word has the same meaning in English as it does in Dutch).

I saw lots of people I know, both fellow patients and staff. Shook hands with some of the new team (due to a reform in the way health care will be organised, my care changes and I'm in the process of saying goodbye to my social nurse. My psychiatrist, as said, left today).

Another thing that makes me happy is the weekend started (but for exceptions, I don't work on fridays) and I can rest now for three days before making the 'end-run': still one-and-half week of hard work and then I will start my holiday: for 6 weeks I take time to recover before a new season of stepping up for our rights and interests as mental health care clients will start on 25 august. Me and my colleagues will have a day out two weeks from now and then it's 'Schluss' for a while as the germans say.

Summer is coming: resting, time to visit friends, make little trips on bike and on foot through the forests and hills round my hometown, 10 days of camping holiday with my parents. Looking forward to it!

(*) edit: 'day out' is a dutchism perhaps? A day trip visiting a touristic place is what I mean.

Secret Service - cult and legendary Polish gaming magazine from the 90's is coming back! After 13 years since the last issue the old team is reuniting and reviving the legend! :-D

I'm soooooo happy, this magazine was a huge part of my childhood :)

Making some people thrilled to receive some new games made me happy :-)

Peace all
That time when the sun has disappeared over the horizon but still illuminates the clouds. There was a commercial jet with twin tail engines drawing a perfect and brightly sunlit contrail across the darkening sky. It was miles and miles long, and barely dissipating. Suddenly, the trail ended, and the jet continued onwards. Must've hit a bank of different air, I suppose. The experience was pretty and super relaxing.

Also, I just bumped into the strict definitions of dusk, dawn, and twilight. Nifty! How did I not know them before?

Spending time with my eighteen month old cousin, she's really sweet, smart, and adorable.

HAHA! This post, it was great.

AND, I'm having a "5 guys" burger and fries right now.
Well, it was a couple of days ago, but you know, recovery delay.
Fiu fiu (the ~5 hour Ghost/Slayer/Iron Maiden gig before that was fun too)

Those three, Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash, Savoy Brown, Black Sabbath, along with some of our local rockers like Budka Suflera, Perfect, and the literally local ZZTo... I mean Izotop (apart from Sabbath, all of those were here in Poznań to boot). And had to pass on Aerosmith and Clapton because I ain't got the Zlotys and/or time for all of them. Not too shabby for the first half of the year.
Seems like Rock'n'Roll is trying to invade Poland.

Randalator: All 14 studio albums painstakingly reproduced in miniature as they were originally released back in the day. Right down to miniature postcards, miniature stickers, miniature posters, miniature everything. Wish You Were Here even comes sealed in black shrink wrap with a sticker just like the LP in 1975. And I got it for a criminally low price that I almost feel a little guilty about.
Oh by the way, mucho envy.
Part of the job I've had the last six weeks is manually checking IT stock numbers etc.happy the final numbers matches my manual checks on excel.phew
In the current (August 2014) issue of Maximum PC, The List feature (page 16) covers "7 Technologies that have made our lives worse". Number 1:

"DRM
Because when you buy something, you want to have limited use. Or better, include a silent, self-installing rootkit that makes your computer vulnerable to other malware." [my emphasis]

Now, if only I could get PC Gamer to stop listing "Copy Protection: Steam" for games offered DRM-free on gOg and other vendors. My first email to the editor went unanswered, but I'll keep reminding them, title by title, until - hopefully - they make the corrections.
