Kleetus: Do you tap it yourself from your own maple tree?
No, but my cousin's husband works for a big maple farm on St. Joseph Island and I can get it from him discounted. Incidentally, he's the inventor of a new microcontroller based system that can detect downed or damaged sap lines and notify the farm operator of the location/tree so they can repair the otherwise costly problem. It's catching on around the world now with maple producers globally from what I understand.

We have a maple tree at my parent's house where I grew up but we never tried to tap it. Not sure you could get much of use out of a single tree. :)

Yes, I do realize that these admissions only breathe more wind into Canadian stereotypes. Ah well... :)

That's what I've heard as well.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Spent the whole last night and today downloading all 255gb of all my GOG purchases, except Witchers games, took forever.

Probably making a living now. There are many tadpoles that were hatched in my rain barrels so I nurtured them. There's a little ecosystem going in my backyard.

skeletonbow: I have! Apple pie ice cream (Chapman's). Unfortunately, they don't make that flavour anymore. It was my favourite too. :(

I've got a recipe somewhere for homemade chipotle ice cream, where it's not just a topping but the actual product although I'm not sure where the heck I put it. There is one problem with that though. Sugar and milk both counteract capsaicin, so it loses a lot of the heat. Personally I would toss some cooked bacon in the food processor for a few seconds and throw it in the ice cream too, along with some grade A maple syrup. NOM NOM NOM!!!

TARFU: Put bacon on foil-lined metal pan in oven at 400F for 10 minutes. Take bacon out, brush with maple syrup. Put bacon back in oven for 5-6 more minutes until crispy. Take bacon out and enjoy.
Do not take this FOOL'S advice!

Same here. Of course, the RPG happens to be Paladin's Quest, which is *probably* not the one you are playing.

Have you played Paladin's Quest? Have you even heard of the game? (Hint: The game is not about a paladin; in fact, I consider the game's (US) title not to make sense.)
Ordered one - got two!

Actually, I'm not certain certain whether I should be happy or sad. I had ordered an old Apple microphone for nostalgic reasons from a seller on Ebay. I didn't know it was the microphone that had come, and the size of the box inside the soft envelope didn't match up with what I remembered, but I couldn't figure out what else it might be. Turns out the seller had sent me two (!) [ :-D ], with a note saying that he's closing down his business [ :'-( ] so he figured he didn't have any use for the second and might as well give me that too (he had had two for sale but I only figured I needed one).

Awesome getting two of them, now I'll have a much easier time convincing my collector demon that it's okay to open the factory-sealed box of one of them, but every business selling old Mac gear that closes down is a sad story as far as I'm concerned (I mean, yeah, there aren't exactly any more PPC or 68k Apple stuff getting released, and with stuff breaking down or just getting thrown away, it's getting more scarce... but I might have bought more stuff from the guy in the future!).
