Nirth makes me happy.

He's my friend, he's Swedish.
Learning that the game "The 7th Saga" has an exploit that allows you to max out Lux's stats.

Unfortunately, this can only be done late in the game, and therefore doesn't help with the extreme difficulty of most of the game. In particular, it does not help with the apprentice fights, as you can't do this trick until it is too late.

From what I have read, at least you only have 2 of them in the game, and there are ways to deal with them:
1 has his* level fixed, and therefore you can get past by powerleveling at some point after the trigger that fixes his level (and determines which apprentice he is).
2 will sometimes offer to join instead of fighting. If this does not happen, every certain number of battles, apprentice locations and reactions are re-rolled, allowing you another chance of the apprentice choosing to join.

*: Apparently, this apprentice can't be Lux or Esuna, and all the other apprentices are male; therefore, this pronoun is guaranteed to be correct. (Lux is a robot (so possibly an 'it') and Esuna is female.)

You've just made me happy today by posting; missed you, Deatrice, missed you heaps.

I missed you so much that I have a wet patch, there's definite moisture there, I can feel it.

Gothic 2 Gold ^_^

You Spanish, always collecting gold.

dtgreene: Same here. Of course, the RPG happens to be Paladin's Quest, which is *probably* not the one you are playing.

Have you played Paladin's Quest? Have you even heard of the game? (Hint: The game is not about a paladin; in fact, I consider the game's (US) title not to make sense.)
No, but I was playing Gothic 2 Gold as a Paladin :D. I don't even know what game is Paladin's Quest, but if it's a good RPG, I'll problably like it ^_^.
Boy, I will tell you what made me happy. My orchestra teacher finally noticed that my bow was broken (the screw at the bottom kept falling off), and I got a new one! To clarify, a cello bow. Yay!

Paladin's Quest is an early JRPG for the Super Nintendo. Here are a few points of interest:
* The game takes place in an alien fantasy world (in other words, the world doesn't look like Earth, and there's no Human race, or any familiar race, for that matter). Ancient technology does, however, exist.
* At the start of the game, the main character is a student at a magic school, but then he accidentally releases an ancient machine, destroying the school. (This happens in the first 15 minutes, so I don't really consider it a spoiler.) The main character is definitely *not* a paladin (hence why I consider the title to not make sence. The Japanese title (Lennus) makes more sense.)
* Magic uses HP; there's no separate MP stat. Healing is done with bottles, which have 9 uses each and can be easily refilled at item shops.
* Using spells will make them stronger, until you reach the max level for the spirits.
* For most of the game, your party contains the two main characters (Chezni and Midia), and you can hire mercenaries to fill out the other two spots. Some mercenaries have their quirks (like stealing your money and leaving, or refusing to leave when asked, for example).
* The game is what I consider to be moderate difficulty, except for the final boss, who is probably more difficult that what I would consider to be fair.

Anyway, I like the game. (I consider it to be far better than The 7th Saga, Enix's other US offering at the time.)

Wow, it looks interesting and a great classic RPG. Thanks for the info :)
