I was happy for a while after I sent GOG support a message about changing my user name but then I figured out a way to actually check if a user name is available...Wish I knew how to do that earlier.

Go to https://www.gog.com/account/friends and click on "INVITE NEW FRIEND" and a box will pop up. Type in the entire username and if it is taken then you will see it pop up.

1.  Go in "<span class="bold">Account</span>" ➜ "<span class="bold">Friends</span>".
2.  Click on "+ Invite new friend".
3.  Enter a user name, and you'll see if it's already taken  (see attachment).
