I found some tantalum capacitors I did not know I had. I need to try them in my idea for simple kitchen timers for longer delays (I'm targeting12 minutes) where an electrolytic is too leaky. I won't need to order some just for testing.
My idea for the timers is too be as simple to use as a sand glass. They will probably be using pill bottles as containers. One will be for 1 minutes, another 3 minutes, etc... To use you simply put the one you need bottom up, a gravity switch will turn it on and it will beep after its delay has passed. To turn off just reverse it again. It's an obvious idea so I'm sure they already exists but I don't care.
