I found some tantalum capacitors I did not know I had. I need to try them in my idea for simple kitchen timers for longer delays (I'm targeting12 minutes) where an electrolytic is too leaky. I won't need to order some just for testing.

My idea for the timers is too be as simple to use as a sand glass. They will probably be using pill bottles as containers. One will be for 1 minutes, another 3 minutes, etc... To use you simply put the one you need bottom up, a gravity switch will turn it on and it will beep after its delay has passed. To turn off just reverse it again. It's an obvious idea so I'm sure they already exists but I don't care.
Awesome birthday present from the wife; Mom and brother chipped in, too. I hope to post some pics in a couple weeks.
Today i put the foundation for concluding my work, upon my self purification, unblocking of body 's energy channels and reactivating of all chakra centers, even the ones that had been damaged, flawed or even self-sealed, from a long time ago. Working around the tricky heart point was the deciding factor in progressing forward all the way. Soon, i will be able to attend enlightenment and be blessed by Marishi Ten's favor; then i will undertake the trial of the waterfall before summer ends, to complete my training, at long last.

Applied for two jobs today and fixed a hole in my front door. Been dreading fixing the door, but luckily a neighbor is in construction and helped me out.

The post about the post that made you happy, made me happy today
Got some electronic parts I ordered. I always feel like a kid at Christmas when I receive stuff I ordered even if I'm the one that paid for it.
Found a big hedgehog outside, which wasn't afraid or defensive! No hissing or trying to jab or bite me! Was the perfect chance to hug and pet it! I also gave it out some cat food, leftover from my tabby, because the poor bugger was wandering in my garden in search of some!

I caught up with a friend that I hadn't seen in over 3 years. She has had a tragic life starting with violence and abuse from a very young age, through to her first marriage and then her partner. Let's call her Fiona for the purposes of this post.

Anyway, Fiona understandably had terrible mental health conditions (for want of a better word) including psychosis, anxiety, depression, agoraphobia as well as very low self esteem. However, today she turned up looking fabulous and had a glow and twinkle in her eye that I've never seen her have before. It turns out that she's finally plucked up the courage to leave her violent, alcoholic partner and has moved in to a lovely flat/apartment by the coast.

The icing on the cake was that she has since met a guy who absolutely dotes on her and everything seems to be falling nicely in to place. Unsurprisingly, it's quite a strange feeling for Fiona to not worry about what others are doing to manipulate and control her. Over a period of months, she's realised what she's missed out on emotionally for pretty much her whole life.

It's an incredible transformation that has genuinely moved me - wonderful.
Looked at my (one of anyway) book shelves and got just got lost in some of the memories.

Also reminded me that I got a hell of a backlog.
Had to replace a keyboard today: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_bitch_about_life_in_general_thread/post8157

Good news is that it's $20 cheaper than the first time I bought the same model. And BestBuy FINALLY had in-store some monitors with HDMI connectors. Not sure why they only had VGA and DVI-D models on the shelf before this, but now I can easily connect to the laptop to have two screens while screwing around with QuickBooks and Excel at the same time. It was a bit of a chore to try to use both on the same screen - spreadsheets like their real estate, and QuickBooks likes to have multiple windows open.

This should easily save me 15 minutes each week. More game time! ; )
