I'm happy because I decided that I would look for my cat Angel( after not seeing her for dinner time) instead of thinking she's a cat and this pretty normal behavior but shit am I glad I did as she had somehow found her way into the neighbors roof space (thankfully they were home) She is safe and not to freaked out and I am so happy that she is OK and that I found her with the help of our lovely neighbors and my wonderful partner.

Same-sex marriage is almost certainly going to be legal in Finland in the near future, and even the Church is happy about it. I'm not gay, but I'll be buggered if it's not a great day for human rights as well as democracy (the law was proposed by ordinary citizens, not MP's), and nothing short of war can ruin my mood now.

The restaurant we usually order meal from fucked up something (again......), but this time it was positive, at least for us.
- their website didn't charge my card when paying last week
- they phoned us, telling about this mistake now
- we had to pay this in cash now to the delivery boy, but the bill was a LOT lower (about 1/4) than the missing amount :D
- we got triple amount of pear juice today with our daily meal, because...?????
In other words: They fucked up, we paid less, and got more pear juice :D

If you've seen me in the "bitch about life" thread lately, you know that I've been depressed constantly for a few months, but today...
I just feel good today.

I visited my sister this afternoon and my brother in law showed me one of his latest acquisition: An electromechanical digital voltmeter. The display looks like old mechanical counters and you hear a motor running (not a fan) when it is running. I think it had 4 digits.
When you check a voltage the mechanical counter counts back or forth until it show the value for the voltage being measured. It dates from the early 1960's and is still accurate or 1/10th of a Volt. And I'm guessing it's been a while since its last calibration. (I did not see a calibration tag/seal)
I always thought that the first digital electronic measuring instruments use nixie tubes and that mechanical counters were only used to count things from peoples entering a place to meters of tissues in a factory.
I was so amazed by the thing that I forgot to check who made it, I don't think it's one of the big name like HP or Fluke as I believe I would have noticed that. It was really neat to see running.

Also, sitting here playing a crappy game instead of being stuck around people acting like five year olds with fresh head trauma and having to suppress the urge to commit assault with a 200 pound shopping cart while they act like imbeciles in the name of getting a deal.
