If you are so pent up on the name thing I would suggest calling her "filthy whore". She likes that. :D

He (or those with non-binary identities) who loves, also hates. Same hormon involved (oxytocin). So instead of acting inside a love/hate cycle, we should aim for compassion (= understanding without judgment) in situations of conflict. In practice, this means that we should have compassion when we see a turd, and then realize that we don't need to feel annoyed at said turd. Because it would show a lack of compassion especially with ourselves if we waste precious energy having feelings about the turd regardless if it's hating the turd or loving the turd.

(If I figure out how to apply this in practice, I'll let you know - work in progress!)

Repression doesn't work anyway, but transmutation will work so our aim should be to become the best we can be, not just be fake nice. By transmutation I mean that we use the energy for something better than to interact with turds. I came to the conclusion that I can't transmute external turds, I can only transmutate the turd within me. The "Inner Turd".

Even then, I think discussion would generally be improved. Notepad is a place to write down whatever you currently find, or editing it into an existing post. It would generally force users to think on what is it they want to say a lot more than they are right now, I'd say it would greatly improve quality of individual posts. But I have nothing to prove any of what I'm saying right now, I'm mostly talking out of my ass - it's just something I'd like to see tried somewhere, trying to force such an approach on a community like this one which has worked without it for nearly a decade would most likely prove to be a lot more destructive than constructive.

I just thought of another problem with your idea. Developer Q&A topics would not work if the developer is only allowed to post twice a day.

Of course, one idea that I have is to make it so that only blues (that is, gog.com employees) are able to take away reputation. This would fix some (not all) of the problems with the reputation system.

If it's determined that there are 16 distinct gender / whatever orientations, then we can call it Sexa-Hexadecimal Day and celebrate programmers at the same time.

It's also my sister's birthday, and I'm really hoping there isn't some sort of connection between the two.

Of course they would - actually, I've very rarely seen developers responding more than once or twice even in threads with issues. Of course, it would make sense to alleviate such restrictions in troubleshooting topics. Problem is that two people talking in quick succession is more of a chat than what I would expect of a public discussion forum.

That's a slippery slope because asshole is a subjective term. Every time someone says, "That guy is great!" there is another one saying, "That guy is an asshole!"

aside from scammers, i'd count idiotic users that use alts to derep when you don't agree with their inconsistent troll "arguments" (there are some of this users) and annoying trolls
