So, if i read it correct the topic creator would love to have a Utopia forum where all people 'love' another, talk peacefully, without having a way of giving their opinion or have some healthy discussions about several topics like games, movies, and general otehr things people would like to discuss about.

We have a channel : RTL 4 the family channel as most dutch call it, there is little room for good arguments or discussions in some live programs on that channel.
This is also among the EU politics, we have to take every thing they do and they dont like it if we talk back, so much for democracy in the EU and freedom of speech.

Since EU decides whats best for all the eu contries, democracy seems to be 'gone', cause when 1 party (EU top) decides what every single country has to do, then that cant be called a democracy any longer.

i had plenty of these, some of these are gone, i like to talk about lots of things, and 99% of the communities i am in, are international so we have to speak english.

you native english speakers have advantage on it. for me it is not possible to serve more such forums as for writting in english is quite slow for me. i put w-o-r-d a-f-t-e-r w-o-r-d concentrated and judiciously, here and there using online dictionary and that yet after similarly understanding what im going react to.
my struggle with english lasts for decades and considering it i must be quite ungifted for it.

i would be totally happy if someone not only understands but write me, if i make some mistake kind of "native speaker would never say it like that", how to write the same correctly

I have nothing against a decent community , if all the world could be Utopia i would be very happy.
So i like peacefull communities, but people must be able to debate if they think some games or movies sukz...
cause we cant all like the same movies. games and music, we can however make things go peacefully while we debate on things.

So we must not become like our EU government:
Its a huge mess now, politicians are trying to make weird deals cause they dont know how to solve the mess they got us (the people/voters ) into, so the EU govs are the ones that f- up bigtime

Anyway the voters will reflect that in the upcoming elections, except for the netherlands ofcourse,
which are like little kids that always behave nice and always bow to the EU.

This is the internet community, that is not what I can call a real life community. In this virtual community everyone can pretend to be anyone and behave differently then in real life. Most of the internet community have nothing to lose unlike in real life, you can change another alt if your main internet persona reputation takes a hit.

A good internet community have value, but not as much as a real life community. And good internet communities has already formed, with or without us.

As I said a good internet community has a lower value then real life, where you can donate blood, save the fishes, donate to education funds etc. In the internet the maximum you can do is to make somebody feel good or bad. I am not even the deciding factor of someone feel good / bad. Without me they will find something that make them feel good. Without me they can find something to feel bad about.

In real life you are saving lives, changing someone future for the better and actually do something more important other then feels, hence I say a real life community have a higher value.

Granted there are some people benefit much more in the internet communities then only feels, But they mostly resides in the programming thread, technology / mathematical study thread, motivating thread, how to build your PC thread, How to DIY something thread, health thread, cooking thread.

Hence I say good internet communities already formed, with or without us.

You or mine definition of good may be bad to another person and vice versa.
ISIS members will think the underground internet community on how to be a suicide bomber is good as it takes him closer to his god, but a lot of people disagree.
Green peace internet community will think their internet community is good because it helps in protecting nature but fishing companies will disagree.
Vegetarian / Meat lovers will thing that their cooking communities is good but thing each other communities as negative.

In the end what is beneficial to us we labeled it good even if others disagree.
Based on this dark mode logic, good communities already formed with or without us. People agree and disagree over the internet, people who have more in common will form their own communities and reject / ignore the rest. Hence a good communities for these people is formed. If this community interest has more common then difference to you and me, then it is a good community to us.

To make everyone join this community is beyond my ability. I can only change myself, and others that have a common interest with me. Even others on my side will not agree to everything I do and may do things differently.

I am as usual both pleased and surprised to read your thoughts - I would tend to agree virtual communities are less valuable than real ones, but for different reasons than you listed.

i dont think that mentioned values are ever comparable. at first, you can still most things, which are to happen in real life, to organize trought internet community. (i dont think that rescuing lifes is very ussual activity of most of us anyway)

what more, some brands o people interestes you cant cover with real community as the interests may be spread too rarely. how you can reach international community without the internet? i dont mean some multicultural experiment like amsterdam but people really living far away of each others..

real community oftenly can not substitute virtual community, which is advance humankind got by time, and both stand side by side.
