CBS 48 hours has the worst ads imaginable, and their videos will not work unless they play, so no ad blocking works.

Being a US show, I get stupid ads for US companies/businesses/shows I've never heard of and have no access to anyway.

Sometimes I get Aussie ads, playing in the background of the US ones.

Most screwed-up site ever.

Breja: I'm honestly a little surprised anybody pays any attention to them whatsoever anymore.
Me too but I use uBlock Origin which apparently works for YouTube. I wished there was a solution for their android app though.

Hiya Nirth, Västerbotten is one of my favourite cheeses.

So hard, and yet milky.

hyperagathon: What is this "ads" you speak of?
No, not ads -- he asked about adds. But I'm pretty sure that was a typo, and he meant Ayds.
If you use an ad blocker for YouTube, remember to turn it off (allow ads) if you want to support a certain channel.

I've been getting a lot of Neighbors 2 movie ads lately, for which I immediately turn the audio off. Normally I keep ads on for the reason stated above, but will turn it off if I'm listening to music while, say, drawing. (Sometimes I'll just download 1hr-long OSTs to avoid ads, however.)

Mine too. You should try Prästost 1878 and, while not Swedish but still delicious, Prima Donna (It's even harder).

You Swedes are so exquisite, I wish I was Euro.

Sadly, there are limited cheesemongers in my vicinity, so I only get to sample boutique cheeses on my rare feral excursions.

Hi,

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but in some of the other threads people were voting your posts down and I was sticking up for you.

No big deal, just wanted to throw that out there.

Really simply ones, like 2+5, 8+1, that sort of thing.

; )

I guess AdBlock takes care of the ads. Or it's that I don't watch much youtube and simply haven't encountered them.

Or you could have something like AdMuter™, brought to you by the same people as JerkMuter™?

I could, but I'm too lazy to add (or is it ad?) every single ad provider to the list. Hopefully AdMuter comes pre-loaded with ads to block, though I hope it won't block those from Billy Mays' old partner. Or that one Vince guy.

Is that your pup, pretty cute?

Here li'l doggie.
avatar
dtgreene: Is there, by any chance, a way to fetch the ads and save them locally?
In theory, yes.

In practice... why would you want to?

avatar
muntdefems: it has a "white list" feature to avoid blocking ads on websites you *do* want to support/you care about.
There's only a handful of sites I respect enough to do this, which of course also includes webcomics when they request I don't use adblock. (I can always do element hiding, as long as they are images, flash or other ads would quickly get annoying)

so I turned adblock off for a day and I had adds from tampax and oranges... I don't know what porn I watched for the ads to show that crap.

UnrealQuakie: adds from tampax and oranges
Are you sure it wasn't for citrus-flavoured Tampax, the ones with added vitamin C?

Use Newpipe has no ads, option to play just the audio in background, and to download video.
