When you bother to help other people, especially when it is about them avoiding the exact same bugs you get and prevent them from having to waste time and effort, by wasting yours to provide them with a working solution and they are both rude and downvoting...
People who think that there should be some form of legal legislation that supports their personal taste, so things like laws relating to second hand smoke, censorship (swearing for fucks sake), violence in videogames/films/comics and so on.

It all of these cases the evidence of these things being harmful is at best divisive, so it really dumps in my ice cream when people call for laws that curtail civil liberties based on 'Well I don't like it.'

Also, within this - people who don't understand the difference between their opinions being a right and being valuable. I would fight to allow anyone to be allowed to express their opinion, but they have to accept that just because you express an opinion, it doesn't mean that the views expressed are informed or valuable.

Also, people who write overly long responses to simple questions when they should be working...

They didn't down vote you for trying to help people. They down voted you for another reason.

I have an issue with your stance on secondhand smoke. It is, in fact, known to be harmful, and besides, it smells bad.

I could, in fact, list it as a personal hate.

Yeah. Like saying that this bug was exclusive to the client of which they kiss the ass of? And that this time around i didn't even say something negative about the service, at all? Never mind, anyway. After their treatment, i gave them more than enough reason to downvote. And people even dare to complain about hatred, then...

Hatred will never cease to exist. Even if someone manages to get rid of it, other "entities" will make sure to remind him how stupid of him it had been to drop it down, in the first place.

Also, since you reminded me of that, too, F.U. THQ, F.U. Nordic Games, F.U. steam, F.U. Valve, F.U. FATASS gaben. Your broken sh*t now even pollutes our gog shelf and library!

Breathing in second hand smoke for 15 seconds wont kill you or shorten your life span. I can understand not wanting to live with someone who smokes or be in a relationship with someone who smokes but wanting to make smoking illegal for everyone because you are afraid of breathing in second hand smoke for 15 seconds is being a control freak. And no, I'm not a smoker.

No, they down voted your post for another reason. They down voted your post because in your post you revealed that you pirated a game.

Yeah. A game which i *BOUGHT* here. A game of which the steamless pirated version had NO BUG, but the legit copy had some, one of them crippling. And mentioning something like that, deserved a downvote... Well, i am happy to have rearranged other people's common sense and priorities, concerning what needs downvoting and what not...

Do you at least feel the same way about alcohol?

I'm not a smoker but I don't exactly worry about a person having one two many cigarettes and trying to fistfight (or stab/shoot) me for looking at him "the wrong way", nor do I worry about someone having too many cigarettes and running me over when I'm on the sidewalk, etc etc.

Personally, I don't really care but a lot of people here are very intolerant towards such actions. Just letting you know.

Actually, I disagree about the whole "control freak" claim. For one thing, it is usually more than 15 seconds. For another, even if it doesn't cause death in small doses, it is still annoying. As a (amateur) player of wind instruments, I need to be able to take in as much air as I can, and cigarette smoke doesn't help with that.

Also, it smells awful.

More than 15 seconds, how? If someone is smoking, you can just walk away from him or her. OR you could ask the person who is smoking to move to another location.

Just walking away isn't always an option. Maybe I'm trying to park my bicycle. Maybe I am in the middle of a performance. For asking the person to move, maybe that would lead to an unpleasant confrontation, possibly resulting in injury.

Another of my personal hates: People who play loud music in cars or dorms that's so loud you can hear it in your own car or dorm room. (This could reasonably apply to apartments as well.)
