thraxman: As its been up for over a day and no ones posted the exact answer yet i'll bring my turn to a close, its Hoffa (1992). Anyone want to go next?

BreOl72: Uhm,...if after a day nobody delivers the correct answer, you are supposed to give a new hint...that may be a new screenshot, or some written clue, or a combination of both.

Patience is a virtue, my friend. ;)
Yeah, don't be hasty! "Blowup" took over ten days before it was revealed, because someone refused to step forward :-)
So let's get on with it!

DIG THE AVATAR! :D
This one is different. It's old and short, and it has a woman singing a song, and a dot bouncing from one word to the next to indicate which words for the audience to sing. Like karaoke. There's other stuff going on as well in this not terribly long film, but the sing-along sequence stands out as a departure from the main story.

I never knew of such an unsung classic! Deserves the Criterion treatment for sure!
Indeed. The live action sing-along sequence is from one of the earliest Fleicher Studios cartoons to feature Betty Boop, and shows Ethel Merman singing Sweetheart. These 'bouncing dot' singalong shorts began as a technological cutting edge sound experience in selected cinemas as early as 1926 (a different series). This one is from 1930.

It's interesting to note how far back this precursor to karaoke dates - as far back, in fact, as sound was technically feasible on film. Another cool thing is the pictogram-speak! Text-messaging short forms 60 yrs ahead of their time :)

Full version: Sweetheart (1930).

Oh right! XD

Sorry!
Give me a second.

Okay, I need to be careful here because most pics of this movie will give it away instantly.

Here are two more vague ones. If no one gets it, I'll go ahead and posts one of the more obvious ones.

Right you are Sir.

Your turn.

I almost feel like this game should add a rule that the poster recommend the film because I'm so often on the edge of whether I think someone's movie is worth hunting down and watching.

Anyways another easy one - although maybe not for the fascist-right. How likely is it they watch satires of themselves?
