This is one of my personal favorites. It's the latest game in a series of four games (including one oddly named one), and should be recognizable to people who have played any of the games in the series. I don't require the exact name, the name of the series is good enough.

For some weird reason it reminds me of Battle Isle.

That's not so weird. This series is the modern equivalent of Battle Isle, and if you liked those classics you will definitely like these games too.

Yup, it's Fist II from the C64. And yours is Stunt Car Racer :-D
The Amiga version, if my eyes don't deceive me. And no, I don't actually think it's been done already, although why not is beyond me. It's a classic.
