Great enough for me to figure it out without even looking at the screenshot :)

Remember playing that game on a school computer in middle school.

You obviously know the game but I don't know if I can say correct since you didn't give the title. Anyone want to weigh on that decision?
After the answer comes I'll post a link to a browser version of the game from which I took the picture.

I think if he wanted a turn, he'd have posted the name.
True, I'll wait.

You found Frank Herbert's Dune to be that bad? Sure, the lip movement was laughable, the controls clunky and the levels poorly thought out, but for a Cryo title, it was almost alright.

As you said that we had to post proof, I take it that you don't want us to way for your go ahead, so here goes.

Can I say "yes" strong enough? Perhaps it's because I love the book and other Dune games. Perhaps not...

Frankly, I've never known that I can reach such a high frustration level before playing Frank's Herbert Dune. My list of complains would be infinite so I will limit myself just for a few things:
- I can understand that they want to reward the stealth killing but could somebody explain me how Paul was able to reclaim water without deathstill?
- Same as above: I understand the idea of stealth killing and blah blah blah but how is that you cannot kill with your crysknife when you have been spotted? It's so ridiculous! The enemy is shooting at you and you're just waving the crysknife in front of him but cannot stab him. Utterly ridiculous!
- Why did they bother to implement "peek-through-the-door" move when the guard will spot you immediately nevertheless? Furthermore you can actually safely examine rooms just by standing close to the door and playing a bit with a camera control. I know that Paul was Kwisatz Haderach and had some special abilities after all but that was a stretch!
Ok, I'll stop here before going any further because I'm getting frustrated just recalling those memories ;)

I agree with you in the regards of it being a horrible Dune game, but as a game on its own, it is just bad.

Also, hint for those who don't know what game my screenshot depicts:
Think back to a recent video from a popular DOS game reviewer.

Probably you are right but every single word in the title of the game made it impossible for me to judge it as "a game on its own". I just had to relate it to Dune and its creator - Frank Herbert. And that's why I was so deeply disappointed. But I admit - that's probably a strongly personal opinion.

But enough with off-topic let us focus on the main subject. I don't know the answer for your riddle but I have a feeling that something bad happened to this thread. Most of the recent riddles are solved after at least one day and with some serious hinting. I think that perhaps we (I'm also to blame for that!) started to think of it as a kind of a competition "post as obscure game as it could ever be and watch the agony of other forum members". May I suggest that we cool down a bit? I have fond memories of a time when a dozen or so riddles were solved every day...
I actually thought mine was relatively straight forward, at least for people who watch one of the largest DOS-review series (ancient dos games), as it was shown there recently. It is no "SL the game", that's for sure ;)

Well, that is too big of a hint, seeing that visiting the website you mentioned straight away give us the name of the game.

EDIT: I am not complaining tough :-D

I don't want to break up the guessing chain, so go ahead and make your guess.
