Well I initially thought it might be Kingdom O Magic but I'm certain now that it's not

Alright, here's the answer for the impatient:
The game is called "The Quivering", and it's one awesome piece of adventure game. It was released back in 1998, and you had beautifully prerendered 360 degrees of view, and animated transitions between the screens.
As for the gameplay, it was funny as hell, and the puzzles were really imaginative and fun to find out. The voice acting (jep, full voice acting) was also very nice in general(strangely, the german version had better voice acting than the english version)The game was overall huge and I remember thinking that it was over, but I had just finished one of three chapters. Very satisfying :)
See some old review here:

I really recommend playing it, if you can get a copy *cough*rapidsh*cough*. I looked, and it's not sold anymore, so I think it's okay to get a copy online, especially if it makes a few more people fall in love with that game. It would be absolutely awesome if gog.com could get the rights to distribute it.
Okay, somebody else's turn!

This game is going to destroy all my free time, in between guessing games & picking games, there's the playing of the suggested games I've never seen...
This is probably a hard one, a c64 detective game that took me the better part of 10 years to find even the name of

Hmm, yes. A detective game, with the illusive and highly original title, The Detective Game :-D
Okay. Sadly, I never got the full version of this game, but I played the hell out of the shareware version, which I got from a cover disk (that is, a 3.5" floppy) from a gaming magazine. It was released for both Amiga and PC. I played the DOS version, but these screenshots are from the Amiga. There's no real difference anyway, graphics-wise.

hehe yes it was a bit of a giveaway, I'd have called it a murder mystery game except that it might have taken the decade or so before the next person got a go...
The current game is Star Crusader, I think.

Excellent :-D
How I loved that game. Your turn.
Ok, here's an easy one. :)
The pictures are from the C64-version, though it was available for multiple formats.

I'll just guess that it's a version of Galaga, though I'm pretty sure it's not. :-)
Aha, I found it!
It's called Demon Attack.

I sort of thought it looked like a C64-game called Eagle's Empire. So I looked on Lemon, and saw that it wasn't the same game. But I also found someone saying Eagle's Empire was similar to a game called Phoenix. So, I looked on Wikipedia, and found that, again, Phoenix wasn't the right game. But the Wikipedia-page also said that the makers of a game called Demon Attack were sued because their game was too much like Phoenix. So I checked Demon Attack - and voila!
Yes, it's official: I have too much free time.

Your correct! I think that lawsuit was crazy ridiculous though.
