Indeed. not silent service II nor 688. It was still in the time of CGA graphics.

another clue ? The main interest of this game was to offer a choice of 6 German and US submarines to try, with 60 missions. Quite remarquable for the time... Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt in 1989 ...

Congratulations.

And 24 years after this game, the only surviving submarine simulator franchise is Silent Hunter, repeated ad nauseam by Ubisoft . And no one ever tried to simulate WW2 Uk, Russian or Japanese subs...

But it is sad that the game genres disappear, and we just get more of the same stuff.


Anyway, here is my next screenshot. This time a game released by a pretty big company that came practically unnoticed. I had a great time playing it though,

Well, at least Ubisoft keeps the genre alive. And tried to "diversify" with American subs and German subs in the Pacific / Indian.

Never ever saw a WW I sub simulator. Those could be great (in the Mediterranean for instance).

Back in 2007, Strategy 1st published 1914 Shells of Fury. But that game, while still sold, seems unsuported ( no patch , no further information )

I'm not sure since I never played it, but the art style reminds me of the game Shadow Watch by Red Storm Entertainment. I remember it so well because I always saw the damn ads for it every time I installed Rogue Spear.

Strategy First don't pay their developers. At all. So that's probably got something to do with the lack of support.

Correct - this is indeed Shadow Watch. Pretty neat tactical turn-based game, with a tiny RPG elements (skill trees for every of your six team members).
