Right, this one should be outrageously easy.

It's a wonder how floating rainbow coloured spheres that make up a monster can actually be scary. I mean, you probably won't get scared from the screenshots alone, but it's amazing how it really is scary in-game
Even more amazing is how a 15 year old game is scarier than a recently released self-proclaimed horror game

So here's my next one.
I discovered it only about half a year ago. At it's release it was ahead of the games of its time technically, however it failed completely on the gameplay side. For most part it's usability fails completely so it's hard to enjoy it, yet it has many innovations even not seen in todays games.

Tresspasser. This game was great, real time physic system, good AI, innovative hand control with mouse, dinosaurs and boobs... :P Yes, you must look at your boobs to see your health. I will buy this instantly if it comes to GOG.com.

Commercially it was a failure, but it spawned a cult still lasting today. Too bad there are next to no companies like id software who release the source of their games, would be really interesting for this one.
