Some extra info: The game was rereleased a couple of times, and these pictures are from the Gold version. It received very good scores by the (not many) publications that reviewed it.

It's been more than 24 hours, so I'll wrap this up. The game is Foundation Gold, an interesting mix of The Settlers and Command & Conquer for the Amiga.
Here is a new game, that is hopefully not going to be as challenging as the last one. The version pictured here have a framerate of one frame every three seconds or something like that... still, it's a classic.

If nothing else, the distinctive graphics should tell you all who made the game. That should be a starting point.
