I've used the forums actively a while ago, then had a long break.
I have a few free days currently and stumbled upon the GOG.com forum again and notice more and more hostility, that wasn't there before. Something feels of, I guess?

In many threads there are hints regarding the bad state of the forum and a few members seem to be angry at someone or something, but I can't find what it actually is.
As far as I can tell, there is something wrong.

Would anyone please give me a summary of the past events, or give me a direction to look at it myself? That would be much appreciated.

Well, I'd like to think that things didn't get worse, but that the recent political events uninhibited some people, and also some other nobodies went vocal.
That and the usual annoyances that won't disappear.

Well, okay then. I certainly wouldn't participate in any discussions of that kind.
I just thought maybe GOG made some mistake or took a wrong turn, but if it's just that, I don't care.

YUUUUP. That sums it up fairly accurately, I'd say.

In essence, it's different people forming a different community than before. Mostly natural degradation (not sure it's the proper term, but whatever).

I'm still me, though. By a large margin, at least.
