3) Chemically created drugs are far harder on you than herbs.
4 If, in order to buy marijuana, you have to go somewhere where hard drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc.) are also sold, you are much more likely to try them eventually.

Good point...

Natural substances shouldn't have many restrictions on them honestly, because they were made by nature and as long as you don't overdose for long periods of time you'll come back from it... Meth and Ecstasy and other huge chemical creations, etc... these things fuck you for life... And if you won't make something cheap and avaliable, people will do stuff that's bad and cheap, like sniffing paint or glue... They are willing to get high, making something illegal won't stop it from happening.

Ah, no. Opium, cocaine, mescaline, psilocybin, these are all natural substances, and can definitely fuck you up far worse and far more quickly than either alcohol or marijuana. The idea that anything natural can't really be bad for you is extremely misguided. Rattlesnake venom is natural, but it's definitely bad for you. Trust me, Mother Nature does not care about your well-being.

If I remember right, those are all heavily extracted and concentrated forms of the substances... And required a special process to do so. In a diluted non-concentrated form they are probably not nearly as bad as they are made out to be.

Sorta the difference between Asprin and Extra Strength Asprin. Reminds me of a Jerry Springer quote. "Doc, calculate what will kill me, then back it off a little..."

I know this might come off as asshole-ish, but I don't mind people ingesting the edibles but along with tobacco, smoking it should not be allowed. I know smoker's are already up in arms about high taxes and being kicked out of bars, but ruining your health should not ruin a non-smoker's health.

legalizing will have the same effect booze did back in the 30's, no more bootleggers. Crime related to smuggling and growing and spreading will stop as every crackpot can grow in their backyard. Now i wonder what if they did the same thing with cocaine and other drugs

Marijuana, legal? For a joke, that was a good one. If it wasn't a joke, though, then, this is no joke and certainly not funny. Narcotic substances should be banned. Or burned. Or both. The hell is wrong with people and common sense? Anything even POTENTIALLY harmful should be SELF-banned. If someone can't think or act on their own, then someone ELSE has to ban the damn thing.

Considering alcohol and tobacco are legal, I think good old Mary Jane should be available legally as well (of course, there should be some restrictions).

When I was in school, people used to smoke a lot of weed, which just goes to show - if you really want it, you'll find a way. Also, the ones I met in later life have not turned out to become terrible, drug-abusing monsters or anything of the sort.
Where I live now, there's a scare every now and then of weed being sold that is cut with all sorts of crap, e.g. lead, which can cause major health issues, a problem which could be avoided by just legalising marijuana.

Well you know that oxygen is bad for you and yet you need to breath it about 12-20 times in one minute to even stay alive, but apparently it is killing you slowly (oxidation, mutation and than cancer), so we should self-ban air/oxygen because it's bad and stop living altogether! ;-)

Nah, they'll just get high by some other means. Look at the dickheads around here making meth out of allergy meds and keeping me from easy access to the same allergy meds. They just should make a red light district where all that shit you want to do to your body is legal. Have a walled in compound with one way out, and a policy of not allowing anyone out of that place until they are sober or dead. Anyone caught high outside the red light district is thrown in there until they are sober.
