Maybe this is why not a lot of people pay attention to WWII vets anymore... hmm. I'd say it's a different generation.
Probably because the younger generations haven't inherited the lawn yet, nor the responsibilities involved with owning and caring for one. Seems reasonable that when a person takes ownership of something and must invest time and energy into something, they are more likely to have respect for it and seek to protect it.
And as we have seen, the majority of millennials run from responsibility and accountability like cockroaches from a bright light.
