The new updates with strange numbering convention seem to no longer have big icons for the installed games.

So far, I have downloaded Postal, Ceville and Dex; all have the new numbering system and all lack icons after installation, which is too bad as I really like them :(
Well

Michael Jackson and Elvis are dead.
Sting can't write songs anymore.
Paul McCartney is too busy trying to get his song rights back.
Ozzy is, well he's Ozzy.

We still have Bono and Elton John!

What do you mean by "icons"? Desktop icons? Or something else?

Yes, desktop icons after installation. Perhaps not a big deal, but still irritating.

If you're installing from the standalone installers, there is a check box option for adding desktop icons (and it's checked by default).
If you're installing with Galaxy, there's also an option somewhere (not sure where, as I don't use Galaxy), but I think you have to actively turn it on, and I'm not sure if it will do anything for the games that are already installed. Your best bet there would be to find the install folder for each of these games, right-click the game executable or launcher program, select "Send to", and click "Desktop (create shortcut)".
Hope this helps.

I assume what the OP was referring to was that a number of recent updates to the installers seem to no longer have all the icon sizes up to 256x256 which I think were added when GOG moved to the round style icons.

It seems to be a bit random though as the Saints Row 4 and Saints Row GooH releases from today do both have the large icons whereas The Signal From Tölva, which released last week, doesn't.
