Music is usually an integral part of games. What game(s) soundtracks do you enjoy most?

I'll have to think on this. Where I certainly have favorite composers and soundtracks for film and tv, I tend to have less of a direct connection to music during games. But...

... tonight I started listening to a soundtrack for a game I've never played, and it's blowing me away (although I've heard it's a "divisive" soundtrack). It's making me want to buy and play the game ASAP.

Funny, I really don't like the ToEE soundtrack very much. It doesn't help that most tracks are much longer than they would have to be because they are looped four times or so (at least that is the case in the soundtrack that is included in the GOG version, I don't know which version you listen to).

Red Dead Redemption

I didn't particularly care for his work on RDR II but I think his RDR soundtrack was a brilliant mix of western, 60's Spaghetti Western, and jazz. I could listen to this soundtrack every day and not get tired of it.

I hear you. I did shuttle through the tracks a bit... so didn't get too tired of any one track.

Having no relation to the game and doing other things at the time, I quite enjoyed it. It's rare that I like electronica for a medieval setting, but this "felt good" to me. We'll see if I feel the same after playing the game...?

It's not a "bad" soundtrack per se (whatever that means) and it did work in the game (which I've played) for me, but it's not one I enjoyed listening to outside the game. If you like it, good for you!

Here's a list with some of my favorites, but it's mostly about single tracks, not the whole soundtrack album, and many of those are popular songs used to effect in videogames, but there are also lots of songs specifically composed for the games, be they instrumentals or with singing.

If I had to name a soundtrack in its entirety, I don't know, maybe Planescape Torment, Gothic or Botanicula, off the top of my head?

I might lose some of the passion if I turn it into a job, but it's true that I spend a lot of unpaid time with silly stuff like that. XD

Too many to list. Games are my main source of music...

But the soundtrack in "The I of the Dragon" surprised me with it's almost movie like quality. Some of the tracks could easily fit into Lord of the Rings for example.
