The Sims 4. (It's EA and a origin game. No more to say here.)
Lula 3D - this game is too hot for GOG. :D

Matruchus: Slitherine
They are now porting and publishing on Steam and offering there up to 75% discount, so that shouldn't be an issue. As far as I have been told, purchasing from their store returns an installer with an offline serial check, so DRM freedom isn't an issue.

Its more of an issue persuading Slitherine (Matrix etc) to sell on GOG (the games are still pricey on Steam fwiw).

Niggles: Imperium Galactica 2 (devs seem to dont give a XXXX about PC anymore)
Gearbox made games (seems to be in bed with Steam)

Cadaver747: Please provide a link where it's possible to buy a digital download copy for PC or Mac.
Devs are non responsive to enquiries - have tried myself multiple times. Also difficult to find contact points...

As I said in the other thread, it's very sad to see Longbow Games going to Steam-only because of refusal.

For a few months (even though I bought some games on the summer sale and lately Don't Starve at full price), I believe that the gaming future for games appealing to me is darker and darker. I am starting to believe that I should grab old physical copies instead of waiting for those games coming to GOG. There are enough 90's games without invasive DRM to have a huger backlog for years. And since they will unlikely coming DRM-free on digital distribution... Well.

The classic Cup and Ball.

Matruchus: Recently we lost Hegemony games that were coming to gog since the series got stamped with "too niche"TM gog stamp and they fall in the same genre as Slitherine games.
Didn't know that - and that sucks. Maybe other store appreciate some extra bucks.

:(
Been playing some Hegemony: Philip of Macedon lately, just for old times sakes. What a game!
avatar
Matruchus: Eitherway it all depends on gog and Slitherine at the end.
I can say by personal experience -I own these- that their games, especially Panzer Corps, Warhammer, Magnifico and Battle Academy would all fit in here and I bet they would sell like crazy. Tons of wargamers here and these are approachable ones, imo.

Yes, indeed. Im just playing the Ionian War campaign in the gold version. Just defeated Miletus and took away the bread basket of the Athenian Empire on the Ionian coast. It did cost me a lot of troops :) Its really one of a kind game but sadly largely unknown.

Yeah I think Panzer Corps would sell like butter. At least that would give us a chance to get more complex games that I mentioned before (Alea jacta est, etc.).

SolarisLunaris: Assassin's Creed after the first game, Rayman Legend, Prince of Persia : The Forgotten Sands because Uplay.
avatar
Cadaver747: Doubt it, old games are learning to live without UPlay.

avatar
SolarisLunaris: Blood Omen 1, seems on legal limbo.
avatar
Cadaver747: Not in, it's not available anywhere else, GOG has nothing to do with it.
Well, for Ubisoft games, I mean some of the newer games that are heavily DRM-ed (ex. always online) . Their older games have no such problem.

Assassin's Creed II
Rayman Legend
Prince of Persia : The Forgotten Sands

Seems they already remove it 3 years ago, but I think having Uplay DRM is one of the reason why they aren't releasing their newer title here. Maybe there is hope, but I'm still skeptical.

For Blood Omen 1, I forgot the game must be available on other digital stores to be added to the list, sorry ;P

By the way, I want to add Total War franchise here :

Hegemony is one of the coolest "niche" games I've ever played. And we're talking about a guy who has played with consoles most of his life, isn't a wargamer and has zero to none experience in board games.
So don't gimme that "beginner" niche game crap!! :P
Same goes for other complex titles. Y'all gotta nitpick 'em to the best and dedicate some time to it, that's all. Same goes for painting, model building and so on.

Also, there are some games already in here that paved the way for "future releases" such as Panzer and Warhammer 40k.

avatar
Matruchus: Example of Slitherine games that won't get released here: Distant Worlds: Universe, Alea Jacta est, Pride of Nations, To End all Wars, etc.
Matruchus... dude, these are killer games! :D
And I agree with ya: most of these would never see the light of day in here.

Having MMOs on that list only pads it, though it technically fits the list (because they'll never be released on gog.com)

FF14 will never be on gog.com but yeah, that's because of the nature of the thing, not a business decision.

Bavarian: Hatred

I don't really need to explain why, do I?
avatar
Cadaver747: Not sure. Indie developers like to collect money on Steam and then later get some more cash on GOG. So why not?
You didn't follow the whole affair, did you? Hatred is/was a highly controversial, highly demanded and highly mediocre game. GOG refused it while it was still hyped; a decision that lead to a considerable amount of anger towards them in parts of the community. Releasing it at a later point would be a most illogical thing to do. It was a 'now or never one-time opportunity'. There's no way Hatred will ever be on GOG.
