I'm finally getting around to the Penumbra games; I liked Amnesia so much, it's kind of silly that it took me so long. I'm playing the first one, and like it, although you can certainly see how Amnesia is a refinement--Frictional Games has improved with experience, as one might expect. The only problem is, that horror needs to be played at night, and I can't stay up late because I have stuff to do mornings, so I'm having trouble finding the time to play.
I'm also playing Drakengard; the game play is boring, but the whole game is so hilariously bleak and awful, it's hard to look away. It's a shame they removed the stuff about Leonard being a pedophile in the translation; the entire selling point of the game is how fucked up everything is, and now they decide to play coy?
Gave Machinarium a try, but what I really enjoy about adventure games is the dialogue and characters, and, well ... beautiful art style, though, absolutely beautiful.
