Rottencorpsex: Cool to see people still playing these for their first time. As far as I remember, the second one is longer and is harder since there are so many bugs preventing the game from completing it.
If that happens, then I guess I'll stop playing there and move on (to Morrowind). TES is one series I was always meant to play but never did, For shits and giggles I decided to start it from the very beginning, something I wouldn't do to many other (older) CRPG series like Ultima (I've earlier in my life finished Ultima 2 and 3 though), Wizardry, Might&Magic (I started from M&M 6) etc.
Even though I have the GOG version of Arena and Daggerfall, I am not playing them, but this instead because I believe it has more (optional unofficial) fixes in it:

I don't recall now which unofficial fixes I applied to it, I think there was a tutorial somewhere which are the ones most should choose. Hopefully it is at least relatively free of game-breaking bugs.
I encountered some bugs in Arena, but nothing game-breaking which I couldn't handle. Sometimes the game crashed, sometimes I got stuck to a raised platform or a wall, oh and that chick didn't give me the last quest in a dream (but I could start and finish that quest anyway even without her) etc.
One possible bug (or is it intentional?) I've seen in Daggerfall that some town people walk on a spot, ie. there's a walking animation but they don't move anywhere. I presume they should be roaming the streets, like in Arena? Not a biggie though, either way.
Also, while I didn't like the melee weapon controls in Arena (moving your mouse from side to side or up/down), it somehow feels even worse in Daggerfall. Quite often my mouse movements are not registered as attacks, I have to very carefully move the mouse from the very side of the screen to the other side, only then it might work. Very rarely I am able to make any other attacks but side-to-side slashes, not sure if it matters though as that's what I always used in Arena.
Last irritating thing: if I try to run Daggerfall in a window, mouse doesn't seem to work properly. Arena worked fine windowed. I have to play Daggerfall fullscreen.
