Mount and Blade: Warband

My God, I can't stop, year after year...
I need a healer.
I dusted off my notes from a few eons ago and am continuing my trek through Heroes of Might and Magic II. I'm doing it in order and I'm on "Clouds of Xeen" in the Expansion Pack. When I've completed the Expansion Pack, next I'll tackle the Campaign.

I've probably spent around 300 hours or so on the game in my lifetime. I get bored with it after a few months and go on to other things, but I keep coming back, it's that good.

My brother says HOMM III is better. I wouldn't know.
Just started Silent Storm... yet I am already having serious issues with the framerate. Does anyone know a solution?
Started playing Alien: Isolation last night and about to continue. They seem to have really nailed the Alien feel, and that wonderful survival-horror atmosphere. Really enjoying it so far.

NoNewTaleToTell: Fallout: New Vegas, specifically the Dead Money DLC. Holy moly this is absolutely dreadful, I can't think a single good thing to say about it, not one single thing. The characters are unlikeable and not in a "oh that evil guy is evil so I don't like him" way, more like "I don't like this character and am fighting the urge to tune them out" way, the story is stupid and is just a mishmash of done to death tropes and its mechanics are annoying. I just hope I'm at least half way through with it. At least the other DLCs were great, three out of four ain't bad.
i only liked old world blues
mostly because of the batshit insane dialouges and muggy

the other three didnt do much for me
honest hearts bored me

i just wanted lonesome road to be over with so ulysses would shut up

and dead money ? ...urgh

I actually liked the dialogues with Ulysses, unfortunately for whatever reason the game has me tagged as NCR so he kept referring to me as a member of NCR and my reward has the bear on it. Honest Hearts was fairly vanilla though, and really short. I still think Old World Blues was my favorite, it had that bad 50s/60s sci fi movie feel, like a good episode of Venture Bros.

I quit Dead Money, I used a mod that lets you skip through it. It wasn't challenging (my character is a borderline demigod at this point), it wasn't spooky or scary and you could see through the awful story from the very beginning, it was just tedious and the new mechanics were annoying. I'm just going to work towards pretending this DLC never existed...
Started up Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Great game, one of the best of the era. Just finished the cathedral, which I remember as the most tedious and frustrating dungeon in the game. Should be good times from here on out.

Initially I started with the PC version from GOG. It looked nice for the most part since the textures seemed higher resolution, but I was getting a bunch graphical glitches on the walls. Red polygons showing through and whatnot. Also the gamepad support was pretty sketchy - several buttons didn't work and the analog stick was all screwy. Probably could have been fixed or worked around with a bit of effort, but I figured "Why fight it?" and pulled out the PS1 disc.
RISEN 3

Well, I have to say I have not been so pleasantly surprised by a game in a LONG time.

It's a bit rough around the edges combat-wise, but other than that, its very hard to find fault with the game.

The game is HUGE! The tutorial and 2 DLC islands took me the guts of 9 hours! I am now on the first island proper (Kila, but you can go to any other island if you wish it), and it can be a bit confusing it's so big. I am exploring everywhere, trying not to miss anything and I was pretty sure I hadn't, until I popped up out of a series of spider infested tunnels, to find myself in an area I had thought I had fully explored, but yet, I had missed the entrance to the tunnel.

While I have been saving my points, I do tend to spend some randomly if I need to loot a locked chest for example, or I need a skill for a quest. I just bought the Monkey Trainer Skill, which spawns a little monkey that you control as a character, the monkey can sneak into tiny little access points and loot the beejeesus out of an area without guards spotting it.

I did a quest for a Voodoo shaman, which allowed me to control another person to progress a quest, which was quite interesting, I have also been able to turn into a parrot and fly into hard to reach areas (I believe that this spell can be gained as a faction spell, with unlimited usage, so you can fly over whole islands for exploration and finding secret areas).

There are three factions, each gives you a new character model and a different pirate ship, they all have different combat approaches ( AFAIK Melee, Melee/spells/ and Mage).

You can also acquire crew members that will accompany you into combat, I have only used one so far (Bones)because he is so entertaining, best sidekick since Morte in PS:T.

So far I am 13 hours in, I'm about halfway through this island and I have 4 more islands left to which I can travel.

On a sidenote, the music is pretty awesome as well.

I don't know about your hardware setup but I've played the GOG version of LoK:SR from start to end and never encountered any issues. AFAIK the GOG version does have better cinematics than the original version (no scanlines yay).
Fallout: New Vegas. Well, to be more precise I'm wasting time playing the game in-between it doing what it does best, crashing quickly and quietly without warning. It's crashed four or five times in the thirty minutes I've played it today. Awesome, very fun. That seems to be tied to something else I've noticed, which I'll list below.

Three things that have suddenly happened
1: The game has taken to either crashing or spamming enemies at me when I fast travel to and/or exit a building/cave/etc that isn't in a camp/city/settlement etc
2: My weapons are noticeably weaker outside of VATS than they were a day ago
3: My chainsaw has changed colors, from red to yellow

This all started around the time I started/finished the Honest Hearts DLC and started and quit via a mod the Dead Money DLC. Just be clear it's not the mods fault as this was happening before I ever touched the Dead Money DLC.

I really don't want to use a fan patch because 99% of them seem to think they need to "rebalance" the game instead of just fixing the bugs. Their idea of "rebalancing" usually involves either nerfing the player to the point where the blowing wind is a danger or buffing the player to where you can kill a Deathclaw by looking at it.
Just booted up Hitman HD Trilogy.

Man, it's been a long while since I've played those old games, I loved those about 10 years ago.

Which reminds me, we still need Blood Money and Absolution here on GOG. Don't forget to vote for them!

thank you. exactly why I haven't either.
The Cat Lady...kind of depressing, but cool.
Dishonored. So far I'm liking it. Games like this are fun and frustrating... I'm already arguing with myself over whether I should start over now that I know how various decisions work. (I think I'm on the 2nd main chapter).
Sunless Sea :D
