Ducktales: Remastered

Surprisingly a very good game so far! It doesn't have the exact same feel as the original NES game, but it's still very well done with a bit of storyline and extras thrown in. +1 for Capcom for doing this.
Risen. I found a temple that had several associated quests, found a new type of enemy and apparently inadvertently released that type of enemy into the world. Oops.
Did some mass effect a few minutes ago. Ridiculously brilliant game.
Some of the 10 days of World of Warcraft offer, for previous owners up to the latest extention..

Grinding some levels for my Monk, 73 now.. Tank was bad, changed to DPS.. I don't like Monks, I feel. :/

Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox)

Love the game, but I never really did get around to finishing it. Time to change that.

Well I bought this game without Expect A lot of it . plus the game is very good SONIC GENERATIONS .
Excuse my English and horrible : D
Assassin's Creed.

It's so boring. The combat sucks. The controls suck. There's no subtitles so I can't even follow the story. I really don't think I can get through it.

I don't care for the stealth around on rooftops gameplay. I'd much rather fight it out than run away and hide.
Just gave Borealis a try for the first time. It's a neat little arcade-y "dodge projectiles in space and make music" game. That's the entirety of the game as far as I can tell, you control a little dot and dodge projectiles while trying to make them crash into each other to create music. It gets a bit bullet hell-ish at times with the amount of projectiles on screen.
Revisiting Condemned criminal origins. Love it. Great atmosphere and a simple dirty ass 2x4 swinging simulator.
Damn shame they never ported the 2nd installment.

Also the first Penumbra and bursts of Myst URU. I have not beaten Sanitarium yet and that play through is on hiatus.

The music was easily the best part of that game. One of the best games of the last gen that I played.

Enola. Just giving this one another try now that it's fully released, since I'm pretty sure I tried its alpha before on ShinyLoot. Enola is a first person story driven horror adventure game. I'm a little over forty five minutes into the game, and am in the Lake House level.

So far only the outdoor areas have any atmosphere and tension, the interior areas are pretty generic and uninspiring, plus the scale of some things (like doors) is way off. I haven't encountered any monsters yet despite the game giving the prep course (via a text screen, not an actual in-game tutorial) on how to survive a monster encounter. I'm hoping the monster encounters are more Penumbra/Amnesia-esque than Doom 3 or whatever other games that are notorious for jump scares (I can't think of one off the top of my head save for Doom 3).

The story is about as subtle as a elephant jumping up and down on a trampoline made of whoopee cushions, but at least it's trying to cover oft-untouched topics. I've made a few mental predictions about where the story is gonna end up, I think I'll be proven correct.

All in all, Enola seems painfully average at the moment as a game but I think I'll give it a bit more time just for the story. If the story falls flat then this one will go on the quit list.
Volgarr the Viking. I really like this but I have to admit it's kicking my ass so hard with trial and error stuff that I sometimes feel like I'm playing a combination of Rastan and Rick Dangerous.
I just completed the last in-game challenge in Saints Row: The Third, giving me complete completion for the single play mode. The only way I could make it any more complete would be to customize one of every vehicle and buy every piece of clothing and get every tattoo. There is a wave survival mode and there are a couple of Steam achievements that give you extra challenges but I don't care about Steam achievements and I'm not a fan of wave survival mode in any game. Overall, 75, almost 76 hours well spent as far as I'm concerned.
Shadowrun Dragonfall DC: great RPG but the combat has some minor annoyances. Looks like they're going to fix this with the next Shadowrun game set in HK though.

On the non-GOG side, Endless Legend. Definitely one of the most captivating 4X I've played in a while!
Looks like I'm about halfway through SW Dark Forces. I'm definitely having a blast with that one. Running and gunning through stormtroopers is always fun. Some of that level design is kind of tricky to figure out though, but I appreciate it actually requiring a bit of effort.

Also tackling a little bit of Galactic Battlegrounds on the side, but my main focus is definitely on the former. :)
Just played another hour or so of Batman Arkham City.

I like the open world approach. You have the main story moving along, but you have all these side missions that come up. And you can choose what to focus on. It works for me. My game time is fragmented and sometimes short. So, being able to choose what to do at the moment is useful. Plus, even the main story breaks into bite-sized "levels" or challenges or rooms or episodes. So I don't get caught in something too big all at once.

Contrast that with Falskaar, a mod for Skyrim. It's well done. The author used it as his entree into a career. So he's showing off. But, I went into a dungeon and I'm still not out. I've played a couple hours. And I'm still in the dungeon. That can be good when you have 8 or so hours to spend in one chunk. I do not. Once I've made it our of the dungeon I may just leave Falskaar behind. The main Skyrim spaces are also sized pretty well for my needs. A dungeon? An hour or so. A few of the quests are bigger and longer, but they are also broken into smaller chunks and you can put them down and pick them up again later.

It has been interesting to me to watch my gaming values change with my life situation.

It's been so long since I frequently had large chunks of gaming time that I wonder what I would even do if I had a free weekend where I could spend as much time gaming as I wanted. I'm not even sure I would... hmmm...
