misteryo: How are you liking it?
So far it's quite good.

I'm playing dragon age inquisition, also valkyria chronicles.. Year ago I bought xcom expansion but i'm too scared to play it again . It is insane, because I love my group. I don't want everybody dead.
Just started, last night, playing Brutal Legend. Is it the most polished game? Nope. Could it use a little bit of explanation of some concepts? Sure, a couple more hints here and there wouldn't hurt. Is it the first game in a long time that repeatedly had me laughing out loud? Absolutely! The wife was starting to give me funny looks...

Really looking forward to see what's next in this game, The ridiculousness is perfect, the music is great, the character art couldn't be better, and it simply would not work with anyone else but Jack Black playing the main role.

Yeah, I'm gushing after only a couple hours in.

I'm sorta curious, I'm interested in Brutal Legend (and I love me some metal) but I don't really like Jack Black at all. Is he actually acting or is he just sorta playing himself? I mean if he's actually in character then that would be okay to me.

Edit: I started playing Alpha Prime earlier today and got just past where the demo ended. My initial reaction is that this game is definitely worth the 49 cents and I'm not really noticing any glaring flaws. Enemies are tough (they're accurate and fairly intelligent) and you can't just stand in the middle of a room aiming, and I appreciate that. Graphically it's a generic space station but the textures are clean and everything looks good overall (like a Sci-Fi Doom 3, aka Doom 3 with the lights turned on). Sound-wise it's okay, voice acting is fine, if a bit cheesy, weapons sound good, the action theme is pretty terrible though.

I'd say more like himself, mixed with his role from School of Rock in that he shows his passion for metal. His character isn't over-the-top, at least not yet.

That sounds promising, I think he's actually a pretty okay actor when he's not going over the top. I'll have to check it out, thanks!
Alpha Prime. I'm on level three (I believe there are ten levels in total) and I'm mostly enjoying it. The enemies can be rather cheap at times (they're aimbots more or less and they come in groups of three or more) and for some reason the game lags just a tiny bit when I try to run n' gun, not a lot of lag but just enough to make me miss at point blank range sometimes. It doesn't lag at all otherwise, just when I get close to an enemy and try to run n' gun. The action theme that just popped up in level three is actually really cool, which I'm very happy about, the first action theme was pretty terrible. I'll reiterate something I said in the Hermit Cave, the movement in this game just feels...off. I don't know how to describe it other than to say it's not slow but it's sort of sluggish.

Level wise it's entirely linear even by linear FPS standards, I've found one single room I could enter that was "off the path". That room was empty (no health refills, no extra ammo) save for an enemy.

All in all, I've gotten my 49 cents out of it already, whether I actually play this game to completion depends entirely on whether or not I finally get fed up with the aimbot-ish enemies.
Dragon Age: Inquisition. Should play more, the playtime shows only 34 hours.

And the game was released 5 days ago :D
Alpha Prime. I've made it to level four, these levels are really short once you take away the reloading. The cutscenes are rather frequent as well. I'm going to guesstimate that this game is around five to six hours long from start to finish, figuring in a couple of reloads a level.
Even more Alpha Prime. I've just made it to level 5. Occasionally this game requires you to be absolutely perfect and even if you are you'll still be left limping out of a few fights you win. I encountered my first bug in the game, an invincible enemy who unfortunately is placed right at the very beginning of a really railroad-y segment (even by the game's already completely linear standards) where health is at an absolute premium, so you're forced to do a mad dash away from him and hope he only wings you a few times.

The aimbot-ish enemies are still annoying, luckily they seem to cap out at about three to a group to a room, and they seem to have a little bit of trouble hitting a moving target. Level 4 featured one really absolutely head scratching segment that was not only annoying but it was just out of nowhere and it really broke up the pace it had set, and not in a good way.

Still I'm actually enjoying the game, it's not really a great game, it's decent at best and more mediocre than anything but I guess I'm liking the difficulty set up by the aimbot-ish enemies. One thing that would improve the game would be cutting down on the number of cutscenes and decided whether it wants the cutscenes to be cinematic on in-game engine because right now it's using both.
Installed and just barely started Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Only done a little bit of the prologue so far, but I'm already liking it more than I did on PSP.

Also put in some more time on Steins;Gate, which went ignored while I focused on some other games. Stumbled into an ending when I wasn't expecting one, now I have to figure out how to avoid it.

I've just made it to level 6 in Alpha Prime. So far Alpha Prime has had a railway/tram segment, the defend this person/item for x amount of time segment, the oxygen is limited segment, the you arrive in the middle of a firefight segment, a you must repair this item to open a door segment and an office segment. What other standard FPS segments is it missing? It's starting to feel like the level designers designed the missions based on a FPS level check list.
The GOG forum. But damn, those mini-bosses are insane. Plus the leveling system is totally glitched.
I'm playing Dragon Age Inquisition, and enjoying it. It's been awhile since I've bought a triple AAA release at launch. :D

But sadly, I've got to stop playing for a bit, as I'm getting busy with stuff for the holidays and other things.
Indiana Jones - the fate of atlantis...playing it for the very first time
