the_bard: I was on some pretty serious pain meds when this first came out. My gf at the time picked it up for me. I played the shit out of it. Trippy. Really, really, really like it.

From what I remember I got into it quite easily. The drugs probably helped.
Diablo 2
Glad theres still plenty of ppl playing this everyday
Currently played past few days:

Ultima Underworld 1&2
Betrayal at Krondor
Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos
Daikatana
Dead Island
Silver. It is not at all what I expected it to be, but I am enjoying it.
Frozen Synapse. Or rather, that's a game I just got fed up with, will uninstall and will probably never play again. I understand the basic game mechanics (no thanks to the shitty excuse of a tutorial), but I still find it extremely frustrating. My units get shot through three doorways and two low walls at an unbelievable angle just because a pixel-wide line happens to connect the shooter and the target. The makers of the game probably don't have any problem with this magic bullet bullshit even though they seem pretty proud of the realism of getting killed by a single shot.
At the very moment, two games mostly:

1. LIMBO.

I got it from the Humble Bundle V, and quite a charming puzzle-platform it is indeedy! I installed it yesterday and after playing it for the first time, I just couldn't stop playing it.

I just passed the "HOTEL"-sign, am I pretty close to the end already?

2. Sinistar Unleashed

I've had this game installed for many many years, but never played it properly, possibly because of the complicated controls (it has several dozen different buttons/actions, fortunately most of them are not really needed). Easily as complicated controls as in e.g. Descent games, maybe even more.

A few things really impress me about this game:

- Its 3D graphics look quite good even today (but then maybe I just have a high tolerance level). It supports both Direct3D and 3Dfx/Glide, but in this game Direct3D looks better, thanks to 32bit colors (compared to 3Dfx 16bit colors).

- Even though it is an old Direct3D game, it seems to have zero issues running in Win7/64bit. And it scales quite well too, e.g. it supports any resolutions, even though it was probably originally designed mostly for 800x600 or lower resolutions. Good candidate for a GOG release.

- The music sounds pretty good for the most part, somewhat techno-ish.

- And I kinda like its gameplay too, I can't make up my mind whether it is an arcade game, or a space combat simulation. Little bit of both I guess.

But it is so damn hard! I started playing it in the hardest (of four) difficulty level, and survived maybe 10 seconds. Then I restarted it at normal difficulty level (second easiest level), but still I am unable to finish even the first level yet. It sure is challenging, alright...

Baldur's Gate is in "limbo", again... (pun intended) I hope I finish it before this laptop breaks down. For these kinds of games which just go on and on, I think a cloud saving system (e.g. in Steam) would be a good idea, just in case.

What I'd really need to do is to install some RTS game. Maybe Age of Empires 3, KKND 2, Warzone 2100 or M.A.X. 1-2.

Couldn't agree more! Been playing for a few days and if I last more than 4 turns I take that as a victory even though I never win!

I'm going to stick with it cos I like the idea and think it is cool - once I get better at it. You get out what you put in but it's going to be tough x)

On the other hand COD: Black Ops which I'm also playing is a total pile of steaming ****!.....
I've been playing Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, and Rollercoaster Tycoon.
Currently I'm playing King's Bounty: The Legend.
Having a great time with Wizardry I - Proving Grounds. Found the NES Version at a local shop yesterday and using the Retron 3 my wife gave me for my birthday; I am playing this console version for the first time. By the way if you get one of these throw the wireless controllers out and go with the originals.

TW1 (again- I WILL make it through an order side play!)
KoTOR1 (again)
Mount and Blade (not warband, I wish I'd known before I bought the vanilla version, but it's entertaining enough)

Treasa: Mount and Blade (not warband, I wish I'd known before I bought the vanilla version, but it's entertaining enough)
There are still mods that only work with the vanilla version, so there is a reason to buy that and not Warbands.

Anyway, switching between Warlock: Master of the Arcane and King Arthur: The roleplaying wargame.
I'm currently playing The Witcher 2 to go through the EE content.

I also have Arcanum installed and plan to start a game with a custom background I thought up a bit ago and want to play around with.

Other than that I am waiting for ME3 to get its extended cut so I can replay the end (and maybe get some closure). And I just bought the Humble Indie Bundle V and so will be playing/trying out those games soonish (I want to play Sword & Sworcery the most).
