But I just saw Real Myst is available in the store, or this is different kind of Real Myst?

DreamedArtist: Does anyone know the name of the game that was removed that was similar to dark souls? was some third person game that was pre dark souls was removed a few years ago.
Do you mean Severance: Blade of Darkness?

W3irdN3rd: That was never here afaik.

Besides many titles already mentioned, TrickStyle and Re-Volt.

This is the whole list (taken from RWarehall's excellent spreadsheet)
...

retrorealms: Thansks for the list, much appreciated! I had no idea that so many games have been removed but GOG are of course not the ones to blame, rather the greedy owners of the license rights. Eiher way, it's their loss as owners as they will sell far less this way (especially considering that included are some obscure titles that mostly GOG users would appreciate)...
In Duke Nukem's case, it's because of an asswipe named Pitchford.
XIII
Severance - Blade of Darkness
Cryostasis
Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens
Republic - The Revolution
Republique Remastered

Oh shit it is! Thanks for the name
Why were these games removed from GOG?

and I'm still super fucking pissed about it!
Same here considering how few racing sims there are on gog. Only reason I didn't grab it at the time was because I didn't expect to be able to afford a high end gaming pc build, but I ended up doing just that.

Would really like to know why Severance was removed. Maybe Codemasters is pulling themselves away from racing games long enough to remaster the game? Can only hope.

Karterii1993: Telltale's Sam & Max games. I beat the first Sam & Max game recently and have been waiting for the new games to get a discount. Unfortunately, that did not happen before they were taken off.

Maybe in five to ten years I can download them as abandonware.
avatar
StingingVelvet: They're still on Steam, so they're not abandonware. The new owners just wanted them off GOG I guess.
Oh man, really?? Yeah, I guess they just don't want them to be DRM free, which is... Mean.
Severance: Blade of Darkness :(

WHY?! The gods of gaming must be angry with us. A truly amazing game.

realMyst: Masterpiece edition is, you guessed it, the Masterpiece Edition.

Well I guess it's the better version then, since, y'know, Masterpiece title.

Aeternull: Why were these games removed from GOG?
Various reasons. In case of Re-Volt, the publisher had taken a community patch without asking for permission to make the game run on modern systems. Telltale went belly up and so did their presence on GOG. Everything was delisted because they didn't want to update the game. Another title with update problems was Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. Going by the comments, Necropolis was "a piece of crap". And sometimes a publisher simply loses or sells the rights, like Lula: The Sexy Empire and Industry Giant 2.

In case of Duke Nukem, "Pitchford is poison" is what I've heard.

Racing sims often feature licensed cars, which seems to be a problem. Nearly all games (or maybe just all games?) with cars on GOG have fantasy brand cars. Quite some racing sims also have licensed music which may be an issue. I think some music was removed from Mafia 1 and Quake 1 and 2 (not racing games I know) here because of that.

To be honest Telltale games are not a huge loss for Sam and Max. Telltale story telling skill is garbage and it felt like slowed down TV series rather than a game with actual choices. To be honest most point and click games nowadays are too serious because not many people can write a good comedy game.

From reading GOG's post on the removal, Codemasters no longer holds the right to distribute the game. Ownership of the IP is possibly in question. Wow, such a great game to die in rights confusion... but sadly wouldn't be the first.
