I have seen children solve problems highly intelligent men got lost in through overthinking. IQ is just another subjective ruler meant to measure the immeasurable. Once we gain a better understanding of how the brain works maybe we'll be able to quantify cognitive capacity in an objective way. Until then we count how many geometric shapes one matches up with basic arithmetic operations and other meaningless voodoo magiks.

IQ tests are bullshit.

You dont have to be intelligent to get a good IQ score, all you have to do is be a good test taker. Or vice versa is you can be incredibly smart but be a bad test taker, like someone who brain locks up taking tests or reads too much into things, etc.

A person who can see patterns, leading questions, or things even like "if you see two almost identical answers then the answer is going to be one of them" and so on.

There is no better proof that IQ tests are bullshit is the fact NO ONE anywhere at anytime has EVER used them as any kind of standard. If a IQ was actually something real someone would require IQ scores to get some sort of a job or something.

There is also no official IQ test, google it and youll find thousands of them if not more.
I think they prove that 1/2 the people you see on the street, are subpar.

I find iq tests and any other physiological test, like personality, very terrible and inaccurate. You see, all people are have their own way of thinking and you cannot rate someone's intelligence. While someone might know more on a subject like airplanes and aerodynamics, it just shows you that they have knowledge on this matter. The world is full of mysteries and no one can be rated as smart since there is still a lot unknown to the world. I mean, you can take an iq test, and get a very low score. However, maybe in the future you could study a lot and then take the iq test again and have it be higher than the less test.

(How are you doing today?)
I don't know, all IQ tests I've ever completed got me same results that I'm just barely above average. So I guess they work, but I would never believe a test result if it has less than 100 questions.
I really don't get them. They really go over my head.

Sometimes, a half-truth is more dangerous. There is way too much room for error with a psychological diagnosis, isn't there? Everything is left entirely to human discretion. That is where the problem stems from.

true , way too easy to convince some people if you start with a truth and then continue with lies

if those psychological diagnosis would be good then most psychologists should come to the same conclusions, as far as i know thats not the case

They seem limited and prone to bias like others have mentioned. Their use can cause unnecessary friction and competition in a world where our species need more cooperation.
