I agree that Gog's actions regarding the cancelled Devotion release are highly questionable. For me it's only the final straw after several prior disappointments, but it's definitely a new low and unmasks their "We're the good guys in gaming, we have principles and are pro-consumer" line as nothing more than a cynical marketing ploy.

As I explained in an earlier post, a lot of my family and friends are gamers. It's not uncommon for them to ask for games for Christmas, and I've up until this year been trying to steer them to ones sold here instead of say, Steam or Ubisoft for stuff you can increasingly only get digitally.

Normally I try to get them physical boxed copies of stuff if possible, but that hasn't worked out to well this year for obvious reasons.

For the firsst time, that's become a liability, not an asset.

I actually think this thread is an okay idea, to give GOG a good idea of money they're missing out on. It's probably WAY less than what they make or could make from Chinese gamers but still

The distraction bait seems to be working for some....no one seems to notice or care about the obvious vicious tiger that is China in the corner, about to pounce.....which has led to things like the Devotion delisting.

I haven't bought anything at all. I had been planning to spend $50 or so over the Christmas period; however I will be delaying any further purchases until March at the earliest, as I am highly disappointed by GOG's recent actions regarding:

- DRMed cosmetic rewards in Cyberpunk
- Failure to release Devotion and subsequent lack of honesty in blaming 'gamers'
- Failure to hold No Man's Sky accountable for DRM and boot them from the store

Instead, I have spent $20 on Zoom Platform and will look for further opportunities to buy DRM-free games from there.
