IwubCheeze: Glad to see quite a few posters naming Super Mario Bros (1993). That movie was hilariously bad it was brilliant in a way.

XVX777: 7. Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

IwubCheeze: Sure, I don't agree with some of the design choices Lucas made but TPM isn't even close to being as bad as people say it is.
No, it's pretty funny, a bad movie, but entertainingly so. It's not completely 100% terrible like Attack of the Clones.

toxicTom: I actually like Alien³, a film that has seen much hate (until Resurrection came along).
Original theatrical release was pretty bad. The "restored" version is actually pretty good. I don't even remember what the original one was like anymore (well, I did see it as a young kid when it came out, so I only remember my impressions of it).
The Beastmaster. Although I haven't seen it in a long time. But used to love it when I was a kid.

Godzilla films are great. :)

Me too. The assembly cut is better but I didn't dislike original either.

Cannonball Run.
Can't say I know a whole lot of movies and I don't like watching them so much anymore. However, there's one I thought about when I saw the thread title.

I am fond of Van Helsing. At some times it looks nice (other times NOT so much) and I find the characters fun.
I used to look at video- or department stores, & liked to hunt there in the low-cost segment. And by "low" i mean low - quality & costs. What you've found there... was justifiably placed there. :-)

One of my best purchases ever was "Bubba Ho-Tep".

After a heavy fight I was able to enforce that this film was watched on our movie evening.

Well, Bubba Ho-Tep is still legend today for all of us...but not for the wife of a friend of mine. ;-)
She forbid, that i will ever choose a film again.

Bubba Ho-Tep is still a running gag as the given answer to the question "what are we watching tonight?"

I still have the DVD...but i may will never watch it again. because this very evening we were watching & commenting this film is priceless & could never ever reproduced. So i guess i leave it in my shelf & memories. :-)

Oh please. Phantom Menace is by far the worst of the prequels. Attack of the Clones is actually half of a decent movie - basically everything with Obi-Wan, Jango Fett and Dooku and without Anakin and Padme. Phantom Menace... nothing. Nothing about that film is redeemable, except for the music.

Again, I don't think it's really a "bad movie" by any stretch. Worse than Aliens, definitely, and I hate how they kill off everyone except for RIpley at the very start. But looking past that, it's a decent flick.

A fantastic movie. Bonkers, perfectly cast, original. Probably Bruce Campbell's best after the Evil Dead franchise (and the Brisco County tv series).

I'm not a Star Wars fan, if you like the prequels, that's fine. Doesn't change that Attack of the Clones is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. And there's nothing I find in it that I like. I can at least laugh at Phantom Menace. When I saw the other one I just wanted it to be over. And none of the prequels are 'decent' 'movies', unless you're 5 years old and have never seen any other movie before. That's all I can say on that.

I never said I do. Quite the contrary, I think they are terrible. I just said I think Phantom Menace is the worst of them, and that Attack of the Clones has some things in it that are not bad. But as a whole it still is a terrible movie. There's a lot of bad movies that have some good things in them. Prometheus had good music. The Hobbit films had (for the most part) a very good cast.

I didn't say any of them are, so you can calm down already.

Gerin: Definitely agree about Pixels. I couldn't stand Adam Sandler movies until he grew up some. That movie is a good example.

timppu: I don't know if I have a similar feeling that his later movies are better than early. Not sure which movies from him I've missed, but on the whole the movies I've seen have been quite entertaining to watch. "You Don't Mess With Zohan" was great (maybe even one of the best comedies I've seen from him), Wedding Singer was quite good etc.

What movies from him do you consider bad? I don't think I've seen the panned "Jack and Jill"; I recall hearing bad things about "Waterboy" but I seem to remember finding it entertaining, etc. "Click" was maybe a bit boring and tame, IIRC.
I watched Billy Madison because my nephews liked it, and the movie was as juvenile as they were and much stupider. Unfortunately they had the excuse of actually being juveniles, which Sandler was not. He just acted like one. Waterboy, same. Jack and Jill was horrible but I didn't sit through all of it. You are right about Click -- boring. I started to like Sandler movies when he made Pixels, Grown Ups and Blended, with honorable mentions to 50 First Dates and Chuck and Larry.
I like a ton of bad 80s movies because I grew up on them, mostly cheesy action movies like Rambo 3. The American Ninja movies are great examples from the b-movie level. I don't like the SUPER bad movies though, usually. They're fun to watch people mock on YouTube but actually sitting down to watch one yourself is usually a chore. Samurai Cop might be an exception, it's pretty hilarious.

My big favorite genre is Sci-Fi so I probably like a lot of "bad" sci-fi movies because I get something out of them anyway, from a cool concept to just neat sci-fi visuals. Nothing is really jumping out at me off the top of my head, but I collect them all so if there's a sci-fi movie made since 1965 or so then I own it and have watched it and got something out of it. Super low c-tier crap like Roger Corman movies exempted (though Galaxy of Terror is pretty entertaining).

Since you mentioned it - I actually like The Hobbit. Sure, it's slow and bloated, but - as you mentioned - the cast is really good, and it has some nice visuals.
