I love the optimism some people have, two people have said bannerlord. It may appear in steam as early access, but you have years still to wait for that vaporware.

Doom eternal could be good, as could BG3.

That skull & bones looks great, and love the pirate arena. Several issues as I see it:
It’s Ubisoft which means the high seas will be chock full of chests, animus fragments, and other collectibles such as you can’t get to any other ships - this is what Ubisoft do. Take AC Oddyssey, had the chance to be a cracking game, but it’s just cut and paste events for miles on end, endless grind. It’s always been the same, the virtually uninhabited Bahamas appeared to have collectibles at every step, the destitute poverty ridden streets of london with a loot filled chest at every step. It really kills off any realism.
Second, it only mentions MMO anywhere, apart from some unconfirmed comments on game websites. If so, big pass.
It will be uplay only, so likely have to get it on PlayStation store, which if on PS4 means only hd output.

Oh, well don @toxictom, dying light 2 as the first is superb.

Of the ones I know will release in 2020, Stronghold: Warlords, Empire of Sin and the full release of Wrath: Aeon of Ruin.

Of the TBA ones: Tactical Breach Wizards, Viscerafest, Ardent Seas.
HUMANKIND - I wished for Civ game but better for years, and it might be just the thing

Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game - new RPG from devs of Age of Decadence

Out There: Oceans of Time - I really liked playing Out There: Ω Edition.

Baldur's Gate 3 - I like Divinity Original Sin I & II, but I never played orignal games and I don't think I will.

I guess Cyberpunk will be cool, but for some reason I'm not overly enthusiastic. I'm interested in Vampire: The Masquarede Bloodlines 2, but I'd like to play previous game first, but it doesn't go on such a nice sales as it used to, and I don't want to give money to Activision.
Space Haven.

Oh!, and Foundation, once it leaves 'In-Dev'...

Oh, "Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game" looks really interesting. Thanks for that!

I pirated both games. Both are quite amazing games.

Just bought "Foundation" yesterday. Can't wait to play it soon. Even tho it's still in development, it's already quite a fun game as it is.

Animal Crossing New Horizons. I don't have many anticipated games.

What's another year at this point? ha. Yes, the curse of being a M&B fan.

Last I heard Skull & Bones is online-only and has no real gameplay outside of naval battles -- no island exploration or on-foot sections. Sounds like an expanded Black Flag naval battles (with a "campaign" inside MP) and probably no more dock activities than something like Tempest. Personally, I hate Uplay and MP online-only games, but I think in this case I love pirate games more... so....

I certainly understand your perspective on AC "worlds" -- and have felt the same on some games in the series -- but find most pretty engaging. I'm often fine with "gamey" worlds and am attracted by historical context.
-Knights of Honor II – Sovereign

Almost forgot about this one, almost! :D Pretty sure game is going to be pretty amazing. And there's a couple more games coming up next year, but I can't remember tho.

But man, for me, next year, gaming-wise, is going to be a pure blast!
Pathfinder Wraith of the Righteous *faints from joy*
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord!
As I've said in all such threads that popped up this year, only 2 games:

Age of Empires IV
Serious Sam 4
Dunno, Kentucky Route Zero? ;P
Cyberpunk 2077
Prodeus
Blade of Agony's 3rd Chapter *crosses fingers, arms, legs, eyes, and toes* ;)

I'm sure there's others I keep forgetting about... *shrug*
First of all Cyberpunk 2077 of course. Then Dying Light 2 and Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. There's also a very slim hope that Baldur's Gate 3 will be released next year. It's a must have for me as well.
