Vampire the Masquerade. Both.
I like to string fishing line all over the front porch and bamboozle trick-r-treaters. . . li'l thugs.

seppelfred: Costume Quest, of course.

I wish Costume Quest 2 would be available here, too.
+1 ! ^_^
Silent Hill 2

The atmosphere is just so great and aery and spooky with the fog that mimics the "fog" of your mind. It's not really scary per se but the depressive atmosphere is just so amazing. Love it.

Edit: a word.

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter

:P

But joke aside, no. I don't think I ritually play any specific games during Halloween.

BStone: None really, but if I were to choose one I think Nightmare 3D would be my choice.
Nice! I played some of the Nitemare 3D (actual spelling) shareware episode when I was in high school, and at times, it could actually be tense and unnerving. Like so many older games, though, it'd probably be ruined for me if I played it now.
EDIT: Typo correction

I might recommend Realms of the Haunting. . . to this day I think it has aged nicely. . . even the FMV in it is really good.

Dammit, now that ya brought it up I gotta eventually reinstall it and try to finish it(couldn't before due to data loss on old PC). :D

Going through this thread, your post reminded me of something. Recently Double Fine and an animation studio, have released a Costume Quest animated series. Not much info online on the quality, so I'd like to ask you if you watched it, and what was you opinion on it. Is it connected in any way to the games? I've added it to my bookmarks, but haven't watched it yet!

In Romania we don't really have Halloween, so I don't usually prepare something themed to play during October. However in recent years, I taken to re-watching some Holloween themed animations such as Gravity Falls, Over the Garden Wall, the Laika produced stop motion films: Corpse Bride, Coraline, ParaNorman.

I also used to watch the 9 CGI film, but the last two times I've watched it, I just didn't enjoy it. SO that's off my rotation.

I agree.
Costume Quest is perfect for Halloween.
And Double Fine and GOG should try to get Costume Quest 2 here.
