To share a more obscure choice, I really enjoyed The Gift (2015). If you like psychological thrillers, then give it a shot. Do not watch the trailer, as it does its best to ruin the movie. The less you know going in, the better.

The Lego Movie (Phil Lord, Chris Miller, 2014)

As a lego fanatic I loved it, but I hated the [spoiler...] kid's explanation towards the end. You let your imagination guide you to create whatever you want sure, but that is also what his dad did! His dad even bought a ton of lego for him, which by the looks of it is about 5 times more than I had as a kid. He even said "you can build whatever you want". Instead he dismantles his dad's imagined world >:( He wants to build whatever he wants, his dad tells him he can build whatever he wants, but he doesn't allow his dad to build whatever his dad wants >:(
And now I'm pissed again, because god willing one day I will have a lego room/basement, and I will lose my shit if I come home one day and find a bunch of cowboys on my spaceships! Unless, that is, it's inspired by the Bravestarr universe :D

For fuck's sake YES

The camera's doing genius work here. Some of the action scenes are shot documentary-style, in brilliantly long takes. It's so intense.

There's no action in the book, by the way. It's just boring. :)

I absolutely loved Moonrise Kingdom.

But IMHO Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel was even better.


A really great one, verily. That and Million Dollar Baby (2004) really prove that there's more complexity to Eastwood's stances than you see in GOP conventions. :| Those two movies, highly recommended.
