recently finished _East of Eden_ by Steinbeck. It was the first of his longer books that I've read and I liked it quite a bit although it defies quite a few storytelling conventions. As I was reading my brother asked me "what is it about?" and I didn't have a good answer. Even when I'm finished it's hard to sum it up - but I still thought it was good.

My favorite King book is Hearts in Atlantis. It's very different subject matter, but it's fantastic.

I'm reading the Thrawn Trilogy for the second time; I think I'm going to make this an annual thing. Not much to say about it. It's just really, really good.

I'm reading a Tale of Two Cities. Well actually, I have been reading it for the past one and half month. >.< (Not enough time to finish it and it is a hard read)

Forgotten Realms: The Thousan Orcs (Hunter's Blade Trilogy, The)

I've gotten a little sidetracked and started reading Rurouni Kenshin (Volume 2)

Denise Chong - The girl in the picture (the story of the girl from the famous photo of the napalm-girl running down the road after a south-vietnamese bombstrike during the Vietnam war),

R.A. Salvatore - Homeland (the legend of Drizzt book 1),

Alison Weir - The War of the Roses,

James Hannam - God's Philosophers (about science in the Middle Ages),

E.L. James - Fifty shades of grey,

Carl Sagan - Pale Blue Dot (about space exploration and the quest for other planets),

Sally Slater - Paladin (a free-to-read Wattpad book),

Battleground Europe series - The Somme: Serre,

those are the ones most read at the moment, there are some more that are more kind of like 'on hold'.

I'm a parallel reader, as you can see.

I'm dutch, but of all those books I'm reading, I'm only reading Fifty shades of grey in dutch (though I'm not sure why I got the dutch version, as I usually opt for english if that's the language the book was written in).

American Psycho by Bret Eason Ellis.

Just finished the 3rd book of A song of ice and fire series.

The Good War: An Oral History of World War II, by Studs Terkel.

Personal views and snapshots of experiences during the war, from all sorts of Americans who lived through that time. Quite an eye-opener.

Strugling through the final pages of Atlas Shrugged Vol 2.

Then, to The Warlord of Mars before Vol 3. :)

I'm currently reading "Artifact of Evil" by Gary Gygax.

The Warlord of Mars is next on my queue too :)!
