I find it clunky, but very useful for installing my games library. Buying stuff with the client can be clunky, and I still prefer buying games in my browser. What are your opinions on it? What did they do right? What did they do wrong?

I have it installed, but I never use it. Sometimes I'll load it up, see how things are going, and then close it again, but I never download things with it or play games while it's running. I'm really glad that it exists since it will allow more games to come to GOG and allow GOG versions of games to not have missing features, not to mention the the new users it will bring in. Personally though, I have no plans of ever using it aside from the very rare occasion where I might need it to play a game online with a friend.

The purple banner every time I open my library pisses me off. Other than that I don't know, and I don't care.

I've never downloaded it because I hate game service clients. One of my favorite things about GOG is that you don't need any of that stuff--it can just be used as a pure store. I don't foresee myself downloading Galaxy unless I need to play a game online, but I don't really have any friends who buy games here.

There should be an X in the top right corner of that banner that will get rid of it.

First of all I consider myself a big fan and a supporter of GOG.com. However I don't have much love for GOG Galaxy. First of all, it doesn't log off if I restart my PC. Steam and Origin at least have startup settings for auto login. After updating to newer version GOG Galaxy lost 75% of my pre-installed games for some reason, the games were there on my HDD though, reinstalling them helped. Then I found that GOG Galaxy has trouble with initiating correct game icon and have been going into everlasting refresh mode. After 1 day of fruitless update I clicked those games and they regained their respective icons. I tried to repair my old DOS game after I did some *bad* changes in DOSBox setup in hope to get a fresh .cfg file, alas GOG Galaxy told me that files identification showed that there are no issues thus no repair needed. Lastly it would be nice to have more options for DOS games though GOG Galaxy not just Graphic Mode settings.

So apart from nice design and convenient way to install games GOG Galaxy proved to be not very useful at the moment.

There is. But every time I click it, it always comes back eventually.

Edit: At least it did so far. Maybe it actually got the message this time around (I kind of gave up on it eventually some time ago, and tried again now).

I pretty much just use it to download installers and letting it update existing installs. It's flawed but functional enough for that. I don't think that they should be pushing it as hard as they are in its current state.

Very confortable to leave the machine downloading and installing all for you. The client aesthetics maybe are not the best but it's handy.

- Antipathy due to how it's forced unto us (hidden/dysfunctional "gog downloader" links).

- Distrust for the game-folder-erasing bug (unsure if I dare uninstalling it, now).

- Rejection for its useless/unwanted features (broadcast of currently played game, etc).

- Understanding for its main function (enabling multiplayer).

- Regret for the usages I'd have had of it (fully controlled batch downloads, etc).

I haven't used it because it doesn't support Linux.

Even if it did, I am not sure if I would want to use it, as so many of its features are either useless to me (multiplayer) or things I would prefer not to have (time tracking).

For me one big feature is missing. Cloud Saving! Without it there is no use for GOG Galaxy for me. Why should I use an extra software to download and install games if I can use my browser to download the game and install it later? There has to be a feature I really want if GOG wants me to try Galaxy again.

No interest, don't care, I too hate seeing advertisements for it everywhere that I have to "close."
