It is a bit sad to see GOG Connect come to such a fast halt, would have thought they had at least a few batches of games ready.
I hope it continues as it helps GOG be more widely used, I for one haven't really used GOG before, and only installed GOG Galaxy after I got several good games from my Steam library on here.
I hope they get the next batch of games ready soon and revive GOG Reclaim as well.
samuraigaiden: Pretty much dead, right?
JMich: The problem with the "Reclaim Your Games" is that it requires the publisher to have kept a list of serials, which few did, if any. If a game didn't use a serial (like the MoO games), then you can't use an automated system, and you'd have to send proof of purchase.
The GOG connect does help with both problems, and by having the option of a time limited offer for the games, it's likely that more publishers will use it.
Time will tell though, but I am optimistic about it.
Actually they could make GOG Reclaim work without the publisher having the keys. With old games you need to enter the key when you install the game, so there has to be a way for the game to tell it is getting a valid key, they could use the same method on GOG to determine that you are entering a valid game key for a specific game.
