Since I registrered to GOG, I only used the Galaxy launcher, and never tried to play games without it. I see that a lot of people play games here with the offline installer, but as long as GOG is in business, what benefits would I get playing without Galaxy? Aren't cloud saves, automatic updates, and achievements tied to Galaxy? It's cool that you can just put the games on a USB and take it with you for example, but as long as I'm playing at home, and have an internet connection, why should I play without Galaxy?

After the last thread "Steam is the best rather you like it or not, Steam saved PC gaming, PC gaming would have died in 2004 if it weren't for Steam, you GOG users are losers who are missing out on great games unlike us Steam fanboys, I once personally watched Gabe Newell walk across the surface of a lake to heal an injured swan with his bare hands, etc", I have absolutely no doubts at all as to how this one will end up...

I never called anyone a loser. I get it that you are emotional and angry because I have a different opinion than you, but you really need to cool yourself down. If you have nothing to add to the thread, than your answer is completely unnecessary.

I'm saying nothing other than people only have to read your other thread to see what the 'intention' of this one is likely to be as well...

I wasn't the one who started to be hostile there either. On the other hand you were the one who started arguing here. You had the opportunity to either give an answer that is tied to the topic, or not give it the time of day to even answer, but you rather decided to be emotional and start a cyber war.

I didn't even post until halfway down the first page by which time half the forum had already called out your "If it ever goes down, Steam promised they will let you keep the games DRM free." BS. It was a downward spiral from there when you somehow turned "I'm getting tired of Steam" thread into a full-on Steam sales pitch and hyper-reacted against any (entirely valid) criticism of Steam whatsoever....

The "concern trolling" is obvious, ie, you're not really looking for reasons to use offline installers yourself, just looking for reasons to kick off "What's the point of GOG's offline installers if I'm perfectly happy with Steam's DRM myself" thing again.

Valve said that if they ever go down, they will remove the DRM.

No they provably did not (with original screencap). Repeating the same lies and recycling "Steam is the best prove me wrong" threads mere days apart is exactly why half the forum see these threads as trolling.

I'm not going to respond from now on or even make any threads, so you can live in peace.

^ And there you have it. Aside from being complete and utter made-up BS, right from the start this thread never was about any genuine interest in offline installers, just another Steam sales pitch (against forum rules).

"And there you have it" Who started to talk about this, and who started to attack? Oh yea, it was you, THE ENTIRE TIME.

You should do whatever floats your boat. Can't care a single cent about what you do.

Myself? I see no reason to use Galaxy. I don't want cloud saves nor achievements and I loathe automatic updates (for several reasons outside the scope of this thread).
Also keep in mind, GOG most appealing feature is the no DRM policy (when they adere to it) and Galaxy has been a vector to push DRM...

If you think the only reason to use the installers is to take some game in a pen drive, rest assured that you can do the same with games installed via Galaxy, they are the same if installed via installer.
