for me windows 10 is a good OS.
I'm currently on a mac but I still use virtual machine of windows and linux (just for fun).

I play on mac with wine so I don't know if is good for play, but I think is not worst then windows 8 or windows 7...
the only compatible problem can be games with old secuRom DVD, to avoid that I suggest to just install-crack and archive, you have the property so you can (not legally but in this case how cares).

Well, I'm remember that with the upcoming TH2 update, we can use the Windows 7/8.1 product key to activate Windows 10, so I'm instaled W8.1 and make the upgrade again since in the future, with the new activation procedure, is supossed that I not are to have again this problem.

Note: A small look in the feedback app shows that is more people with the same problem, at least in Spain (really, the feedback needs a global option).

I don't know why, but that optional(?) opt-out Windows 10 upgrade has now disappeared (which is good).

I still have that Windows 10 icon in the taskbar, and also occasionally I get a dialog box insisting me to upgrade to Windows 10 because everyone else and their dog updated too already, but now when I tell Windows 7 to check for new updates, it doesn't list the Windows 10 update at all anymore. For instance, right now I have only one pending Windows 7 update, an optional (opt-in) KB3095649.

And yeah, I still seem to be using Windows 7, so it isn't like it silently updated to Win10 without asking me. :)

Maybe MS recalled that update after getting angry messages from people who don't want to upgrade, or something...

I have a small laptop with windows 8 that I never really use, decided to upgrade to 10 since I hate 8 anyway and couldn't be much worse. So far, it's been decent.

Yeah, "mistake", but as long as it is fixed now.

I have Windows 10 and have found it to be just fine so far. You can disable the privacy-related stuff if it bothers you (as it should).

My biggest complaint so far is that some of the default apps for watching videos, viewing picture files, etc. often hang and have to be given the three-finger salute to get out of them. That's OK though, I'd rather use other programs. Still, the basic default Windows versions ought to work!

I would love to move over to Linux full time but Linux gaming just isn't quite there yet. There are too many games that I like and would have to give up to go to Linux right now.

The day Bethesda releases The Elder Scrolls VI natively on Linux is the day I kiss Windows goodbye.

Yes, and forcing the xbox client instead of making it optional, as need to be those things. You need to use the powershell to unistall the main app, and even, the three related services are leave in place. Their are set to manual, but no way to remove those services, you only can put then to disabled.

MS, make a Xbox client for PC inst bad, but forcing it to everyone, this is bad.

From my experience I think it's not good actually for a gaming PC. If you're happy with W7/8.1, stick to it.
BUT... as far as I know, DirectX 12 are a Windows 10 exclusive, so the thing may change drastically in the future. This is just for new games, of course, like Halo 5, which seems it will be release for Windows 10 with Xbox DRM.
So, maybe it will improve gaming performance during the next year. We'll see.
