I was thinking there must be lost of people here with really large GoG libraries. I was thinking about something GoG could do to reward loyalty.

How about getting certain "Rewards" depending on your library size ?

eg:
At 50 titles in your library you get $5 credit
At 100 titles in your library you get $10 credit
At 200 titles in your library you get $20 credit
At 500 titles in your library you get $50 credit
At 1000 titles in your library you get $100 credit
At 1200 titles in your library you get $120 credit
At 1500 titles in your library you get $150 credit
If you have ALL the titles in the GoG library up to the last calendar day of the previous month then you get $200. This you can spend when the next calendar month comes and new titles come. This level can ONLY be claimed TWICE a year and must be no less than 6 months apart. Either than or can only be claimed ONCE a year.

It should not be a game of their choice because you might already have it.
If you already have 500 titles then you should get the $20 achievement AND the $50 achievement else it punishes people that were loyal before.

Just a thought but I think it would be great if GoG did something like this. I don't know if they can but something similar would be fantastic I think.

What do people think ?

Free stuff!
It's a nice idea in theory, but I'd rather GOG use revenue to make the store better.
woo-hoo!
Thanks for your generous giveaway styggron!

Nice try. I'm not giving anything away. It was a suggestion of what GoG could do for people with large libraries ;)

I've promised nothing. If you read my post I said it would be good if GoG did something like this. ;)

I bet you're a fan of early bird kickstarter tiers, too.

Seriously: why? Why on earth should GOG reward whales with monetary incentives (at the expense of normal customers, whom it hopes to attract and retain) when (1) the former are already hooked, and (2) a strictly superior monetary incentive is NOT BUYING GAMES?

GOG doesn't publish much in the way of sales stats, but you can look up Steam game ownership - GOG stats shouldn't be drastically different. They make money off normal buyers. It makes no sense to tell those customers "if you're not a whale, you're a third-rate person, eat shit".

I have 1382 titles as of this writing per the library count, dunno how many products. According to your proposal, I would be entitled to ~$100 (actually $25, because the Russian Discount presumably works both ways) of store credit. Want to know how much cash I would've saved if I only bought what I intended to play within a week? Hint: more than $100.

Would be nice and could encourage people to buy more. I'd just like GoG to consider it or something similar. It was just a thought I had of what GoG could do.

Nope not a fan of early bird KS. I've been burned on many KS, never again.
Why would they do it ? Like I said, reward loyalty, and encourage people to buy more. Very simple.
What you buy and when is up to you. If you only buy on sales like me, it will take quite some time and because it is things you would have bought anyway, it is just a reward for buying. Like a loyalty system.

It might take you a year to get 200 titles, it is up to the individual. Nice and simple.

While this is an awesome idea, I do think that there are better things for GOG to spend revenue on to be honest. The main problem is that this is kind of a "the rich get richer" plan, which could lead to GOG catching alot of ire from people with less money to spend on games.

It feels like an order of magnitude too much.

I have ~1000 titles. Average price I've paid for them is $3.
Considering GOG's cut is 30%, that means GOG has taken ~$1000 from my $3000, and you are suggesting they give me back $100 in store credit. That is a 10% loyalty reward, with most systems being in the 1%-3% range.

So, a better value for such a loyalty program would be $0.01 per title, not your proposed $0.10 per title.
Personally though, I'd prefer a 1% discount per 20% of the catalog owned, up to a max of 6% (yes, you can own more titles than the catalog currently has).
You already get rewards for a large library. For instance, I have a 400+ game library. My reward? 400+ games!

(1) How does it make sense to reward people for buying games they won't play with a couple cents here and there, when not buying anything is a better plan if you care about monetary benefits?

(2) How does it make sense to reward whales at the expense of normal customers, thus telling them they're subhumans sponsoring some rich fucks' compulsive buying habits and it will take them decades to become "regulars" here and start benefitting from the scheme?

They already have a program like that. It's called, "Games go on sale, sometimes."

It actually pays a lot better than your suggested scheme, too.

It doesn't come at the expense of normal customers. I object to your reasoning. Giving you something for free because you've done something that I haven't, doesn't take anything from me.
