eg:
At 50 titles in your library you get 5 proper forum searches per month
At 100 titles in your library you get 10 proper forum searches per month
At 200 titles in your library you get 20 proper forum searches per month, and the ability to see users' join date/rep in chat
At 500 titles in your library you get 50 proper forum searches per month, and the ability to see users' join date/rep in chat
At 1000 titles in your library you get 100 proper forum searches per month, and the ability to see users' join date/rep in chat, as well as see their nick in its proper upper/lower case

and if you have all the titles in your library you get the manual sort back.

Which you will lose every time a new title is released until you've bought it.

In my humble opinion it wouldn't be correct to reward people who have more money to spend on luxury goods - computer games are luxury whether you like it or not. It's pretty much like tax breaks for rich people while poor people have to pay more.

I agree with you, there is no need to reward people who spend money on luxury goods; however I do believe the T-Shirt was a sign of genuine appreciation for being a loyal customer.

What I did not point out was the number of "free" copies of "The Witcher 3" that I purchased for others' who were not willing or able to do so at the time before its release.

However, it was a luxury to purchase those, guilty as charged. However, I think after spending the money for a high end graphics card and upgrading one's PC to be able to play this AAA game, they shouldn't be denied the privilege.

Anyone else that is slightly annoyed by calling video games a luxury? A hobby or non-essential good but luxury usually implies exclusive access and/or high price, video games have neither of those things.

You obviously haven't played any Blizzard titles from the past ten years. :P

My comment wasn't against you. It was about the idea of giving money or store credit to people who have already more then enough money to buy a lot of games on gog.com. I don't have anything against the idea of appreciation of loyal customers.

Ok, I looked for the definition of luxury and this is what I found (source): So luxury isn't necessarily something expensive.

I made the mistake of purchasing Diablo 3 on release date. Of course I don't really regret it, I got some 60 hours out of it and a large part was with a few friends.

Other than Blizzard or Activision, it seems to be the norm that games are relatively cheap if you hunt for sales which adds up to a lot of game time.

I know, it's not really per definition but come on...when someone says luxury, most think of expensive cars, 5 star hotel rooms, mansions or large condos etc.. or perhaps that just reveals that I don't live in developing country. :P

Anyway, it was just a question, curious to see if I was alone with that perspective. Apparently I was (so far)!

I didn't take it as a slight against me at all. However, you have to realize that the world we live in today, a gallon of milk costs more than a gallon of gasoline (at least in my area).

I purchase a minimum of two gallons of milk per week. Now mind you, this is a cost that is recurring and it runs out; bladders get full and empty. However, If I pay even $14.99 for a game on GOG, I can be assured I can play it for weeks on end if I choose and the game is pretty good to begin with.

When I see people come into a forum acting as if they are poor and need a hand-out, I question why they even have access to the internet in the first place. They're typically pre-teens who have access to their parents' computer (probably without permission) trying to gain insight into an online world which is probably more than they could or should be allowed to handle at their age.

What is a luxury, in my opinion, is being able to live in a society which fosters freedom, but at the same time makes one aware of their responsibility. Being a responsible person in a completely free world is not only a difficult thing to accomplish, but a necessity.

I do occasionally find new downloadable content for games, not only here on GOG, but also on SteamVR. I have a lot of respect for people who take very good care of their customers and release updates as necessary.

If you're able to buy a hundred games on GOG, you don't need a freebie, you need to hand down a game to someone else who can enjoy the experience.
