MadalinStroe: Maybe a DDOS attack?
That would imply, though, that someone felt this site worthy of such "attention"....imo aluinie's idea is more likely, though yours would make for a better movie of the week. :)

wormholewizards: I can confirm GOG Galaxy is also affected. So no round of GWENT then...

Don’t tell anyone, but that’s me on the lower right of that picture in the dark hoodie walking away!
Those Aliens references made me laugh, thanks XD
If these are whacky times, then it is the prime opportunity to play Wacky Wheels.

For relaxing times... make it Suntory time.
I guess todays events are a great reminder to everyone, to download their offline installers as soon as possible after purchase.
We already know GOG's servers are useless at handling heavy traffic, so maybe the 5 huge AAA games GOG dropped in one day are selling well and they've overloaded the servers?

op_2019_si: Didn't you (GOG) pay the bills? Was it maybe a terrorist attack? New World Order?
(sarcasm off)

I tried to download Wolfenstein: The new order and then bam! The connection is gone ;(

Hope you are all good there, in Warsaw.
Newell World Order?

I KNEW IT!

If you tell me that you're also imbued with electricity based powers i'm gonna have to call the men in black suits. o.0
oh i must have missed the wack times :(
... most GOG APIs are still returning 504/503 HTTP errors like crazy, so I'm expecting major disruptions to anyone using Galaxy. Either someone accidentally pulled the plug on some backend servers (Dennis, was that you?), or they got DDoSed.

That was/is such a good game. I have many happy memories of evening at a friends house sticking the floppy in, getting out this controller that plugged into the joystick port and gaming away. (The controller had a purple wheel/8-sided hatswitch on one side and 4 (primary-coloured?) buttons on the other. Anyone know what it was called?)

Would you please tell me of which 5 games you are speaking? Thank you.

I'm guessing it was the famous Gravis Gamepad! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravis_PC_GamePad

Probably one of the most common PC gamepads at the time due to them being rare for some reason; Most PC joystick peripherals back then were actual joysticks!

Ironic now that it's the other way round - Almost exclusively gamepads, with joysticks being mostly relegated to the high-end flightsim crowd!
