Join the multiplayer, win an autographed copy, play the games at 25% off

Time, huh? If you're anything like us, growing up a PC gamer in the 90s, there's no doubt that Epic's Jazz Jackrabbit and his hare-brained hijinks were a pretty big part of your childhood.

And now, it's been twenty years since Jazz Jackrabbit 2!

We've teamed up with Epic and Jazz2Online – the oldest and undying Jazz community out there – to celebrate 20 years of bun-on-turtle platforming action.
This is a neat excuse to grab Jazz Jackrabbit and Jazz Jackrabbit 2 at 25% off this week, the biggest discount so far!
We'd love to have you for this week's big Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Birthday Hullabaloo: a non-stop multiplayer bash revisiting over 500 of the awesomest home-cooked maps from the past two decades.

You can also win a physical jewel-case copy of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, just like the old days, autographed by one of the founding fathers of Jazz. Details here!

Join us at Jazz2Online to see more of Jazz Jackrabbit 2's 20-year history, the giveaway, and a how-to join the Birthday Hullabaloo.

The Jazz Jackrabbit series discount will last until Monday, May 14, 10 PM UTC.
Well, I bought the two Jazz Jackrabbit games as soon as they were released on GOG, I never played the first one back in the day, only the second one. To death, I might add. Multiplayer on the same computer, two people huddled over the same keyboard, learning to control a character only with the numpad. I'm not a huge multiplayer guy, in fact, I tend to avoid it, and I'm definitely not good at it, but I'm willing to join in on the fun, for old time's sake, and to celebrate the 20 years of one of my favourite games ever.

Nicely done, GOG, Epic and Jazz2Online!
A 24 year old platformer and 25% is "the biggest discount so far".

That's actually chuckle-worthy. :D

What's really chuckle worthy was they were 75% overpriced to start with!
I love Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and loved it as a kid but seriously, 25% discount after 20 years...?
C'mon.

finkleroy: Oh? I was under the impression that they used it to replace Dosbox.

DCT: only for adventure games supported by ScummVM like the Lucasarts adventure titles, the Sierra games and Simon the Sorcerer to name a few.
Did they? That's kind of cool, though, since these games are much more pleasant to play under scummvm.
So, like, Jazz 2 cost $35 at launch, and that was before the two expansion packs which the GOG release includes. Even supposing those expansion packs, which include a new playable character, add only $5 of value, that's $40. At a base price of $10 on GOG, it's already been 75% off ever since it was first rereleased (after being out of print since forever) six months ago.

From all the ones I tried so far, yes, which is alot. It's especially useful for the older Sierra AGI games as ScummVM automatically plays the music and sounds in Tandy/PCjr mode which is way more pleasent to hear than the old PC speaker. So far the only one I tried that isn't ScummVM is the SVGA version of Larry 6 which isn't supported in ScummVM anyway so that's still Dosbox which means you have to lower the game speed when you start the game proper(after the intro scenes) as for whatever reason the game is set to really fast. But that's in game speed and not Dosbox speed.
I'm not surprised it hasn't reached a big discount yet, the release is relatively new and highly-desired games. I guess Jazz 1 may be overpriced but Jazz 2 seems like a fair price at $10.

I know an even better way to celebrate... Release Jazz Jackrabbit 2 for Linux-based operating systems!!!

Oh? Is that set to be released at around the same time as Half-Life 3?

Yeah. but that's still not an "official" port for Linux-based operating systems... When GOG.com port Jazz Jackrabbit 2 to Linux-based operating systems (as they did with the first game), I'll buy it...

I don't know why they didn't to begin with; why port the first game and not the second?
