You looked that up! XD

Honestly the first time I saw that movie, I thought they had made up the sensory deprivation chamber.
How tall is the tallest man on Earth?

I highly recommend it! I learned about it from Joe Rogan and then Vice magazine. It was a blast. I honestly still trying to figure out what the hell happened in there.

Let's do something that goes beyond a bit of googling:

Half Life 3 release date?
Will Star Wars VII TFA suck?
What is the 49th mersenne prime number?
Is P=NP in every case?

Will never be released, Valve did the smart thing and walked away. To many high expectations, too much to lose.

No but if your a fan of the originals, you would be seeing this expecting the same "rush" and wonder as you did when you were a child.

Over 9000

Yes except on Wednesdays.

Deprivation*

Deprivation is when something is denied. Depravation is to become corrupt (Although it's ancient and not commonly used nowadays in English, it is used in Spanish tho). Depravition doesn't exist :P

I'd say I hate being that guy, but I actually love it :P

Now I'll ask: What is it like? Is it a completely black chamber with no sound or anything, or is there anything special to it? Did you see Cthulhu while in there?

These are thoughts I had but I also have a deep interest in deprivation chambers so was more focusing on that aspect of it.

There is one of these kind of near where I live and ever since I was 16 or 17 and saw Altered States I've wanted to go to one. The one near my is a 8'x11' room where you lay in a dense dense dense salt-water mixture that is a few inches deep and "float." If you want to turn a light on you can, or be in complete darkness + silence. ahhhh, yes!! I want to do it badly! That is really great you got to!!! Are you going to go again!?! Tell about it!

It's a completely dark chamber that is sound proof. The water is body temperature so when you are in it, it doesn't feel like anything. There's a ton of epsom salt in there and that's what makes you float and I do mean float. I lost perception (i think its the term) for space/time. Like laying down in the center there is about a foot of space on each side of your body so when my body drifted to one side and touched that wall and I gently nudged away from it. Its felt like I was traveling, flying across the tub and it felt forever before I smacked into the other side. I saw things too.

How can I put it? When my session was over it was like my mind was booting up. Not like when you wake up but in stages.

Seriously GO! Just do it. Be advice and what I did. Have a good nights sleep, eat light, goto the bathroom before you go into the tank and.... this is the hard part to explain if you haven't done it..... just let go.

I'm going again next month with my girlyfriend. It's..... Geez it's amazing. I lost feeling of my body. It didn't exist. It's weird.

I really really really want to, just can't afford it. I love to meditate. I love the peace and quiet and darkness and I like the whole idea of feeling floating and tripping out a bit due to it all. I do like to smoke weed and be super mellow with that a lot, so, yeah, I think it goes hand in hand with being something I want to do without a doubt, for me. I really look forward to the day! I am patient! I can wait!

What sort of "seeing things" did you experience? Shapes and colors and stuff or dream-like trip-outs of things happening more realistically? or what?

Man, wouldn't the joke be on you if he answered, proved, and got a Field's and Nobel?

I saw weird white smoky clouds when I had my eyes open after a while. When closed I felt like I was "flying" like how I said earlier about bouncing from one side to the other and little by little I felt my limbs disappear. I know I didn't fall asleep but when the music turned on to let me know my session was up I got startled and took a few seconds but felt like an eternity to realize I wasn't hallucinating the music. I slowly got up (still dark), not knowing where I was and questioning if it was all in my head. I showered, still trying to figure out what happened. I had tea afterwards with the owner and my mind was still "booting" up, I couldn't speak right. It was pure bliss. I have to do this again. Save your money and do a 2 hour session at least. For me it cost 150 but I was there for 2 hours and 45 minutes, the owner gave me an extra 45!=)

Edit- When I said all in my head I mean as in the music and also the part of me getting up. If I was hallucinating the whole thing...... I know I was up but I felt like my mind was still in that tub (outer body experience).... until I saw the light outside of the tank door as I opened it.
