Since there is a thread about games people were prejudiced about, but still played, I decided to create this topic. After all, I personally don't play the game I think I will not like. Because there are many games, that I think I will like! So I am playing those games instead.

So,what games (genres, categories of games) you know you will not going to play? At all.

I personally think I will never play any TellTale games. They are IMHO mediocre as adventure games and if I want to see their story, I will just watch walkthrough.
Sports games with their heavy DRM and Microtransaction integrations.
GWENT
The whole battle royale fad doesn't interest me in the slightest. It's safe to say I'll never play any of those. Same with team based shooters like Destiny and Overwatch, I'll never play those either (though, Destiny is a very pretty looking game).
Any game with Denuvo DRM,
Any game that cannot be cracked,
No streaming games but if I did there would have to be a non-streaming version
Any multiplayer game if there is no dedicated server option. (I don't play multiplayer anyway but if I did)
Real-world games. War games, sports, flight sims, etc.
Card games
Game with no point. If the gameplay is solid, unique and good then sure I'll play it but if the mechanics are janky and there's no plot then I'll give it a pass. Case in point No Man's Sky. I should like this game but every time I turn it on and try to give it a go for a couple of hours I'm like nah. It's money well spent tho since at least they are trying which is more than I can say for most game devs.

I stopped playing TellTale games years ago. If I want to watch a tv show I'll watch a tv show, not press a few buttons here and there.

Games I've beaten:

Currently playing Just Cause 3:
It's setting is real world (kinda) which is a turnoff and the mini games are boring but needed to unlock items (need to find a mod) but it has enough wackiness to keep me playing through it's barely there plot.

Hunie,something or other.
Card games, turn-based RPG, clicker games and sports games
low rated
All those creepy pervy anime games GOG keeps releasing.
- Anything multi-player based (PUBG, Fortnite, Battlefield, etc)
- Anything with DRM (especially Denuvo)
- Anything with pay2win style MT's / lootbox / per-use DLC junk (eg, Deus Ex: MD)
- New "refreshes" / sequels of older franchises that have been laughably dumbed down (eg, Thief 4, Dragon Age 2, etc)
- Sequels that unnecessarily end on a new unfinished cliffhanger when the previous game already felt complete (Syberia 3)
- Over-sequelled milked to death franchises in general (eg, Call of Duty)
- Anything with a fetish for QTE's (eg, Tomb Raider reboots)

So pretty much most modern EA / Ubisoft / Square Enix "designed for the casual audience" AAA offerings... ;-)

Mostly online competitive stuff and more recent Nintendo games. Also, PS3 and 4 exclusives. A lot of Halos and Gears of Wars.

The reason being a massive PC games backlog and the lack of said consoles. I also am not a competitive person and rather play Single Player games.

Not that I never try online competitive stuff... it's just that they never hold my interest too long.

Many Zelda games, even if they are available in a format I consider acceptable. This is mainly due to the developer's tendency to, starting with Ocarina of Time, put insta-fail stealth sections into the game, which to me are incredibly frustrating and not Zelda-like. (I do exempt the original Majora's Mask from this, however.)

Most first-person shooters. Also, games where the main game mode is some variation of competitive multiplayer. (For example, I won't ever play any Smash Bros. game, except for the little bit I played once in college (and was not that fun for me).)

To be honest, I am more likely to play E.T. or Big Rigs (both of which I consider well known, even if they're not considered *good*) than I am to play those other types of games.

I don't expect to play an MMO, but it's not impossible (expect me to play a healer f I do).

AB2012: - Sequels that unnecessarily end on a new unfinished cliffhanger when the previous game already felt complete (Syberia 3)
Or like Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back? (Granted, this is a movie, not a game, but the same principle applies here.)

Most sports games and the Assassin's Creed series. While the story for AC looks kinda neat, the gameplay looks incredibly boring and repetetive.

Hide in the shadows/scale a building, leap from the shadows/building like an acrobat, shiv person in the neck/hide the body, rinse/repeat. I don't find that very engaging at all. If I'm going to parkour around from place to place, I'd rather do it in Dying Light. <3
- No military shooters (only exception was Spec Ops: The Line, but that was a mixed experience since it's aimed at fans of military shooters which I'm not), so no Call of Duty, no Counter Strike etc.
- Most probably no PvPs, MMOs, MOBAs, Battle Royale
- Neither sport games nor E-sports
- No business sims
- No strategy games (be it turn-based like Civ or RTS like Warcraft)
- probably no JRPGs, unless they're outstanding and different or indies with original ideas, so no Final Fantasy etc. (contrary to others, I don't necessarily mind the art style or tropes, although they can get old, I'm just easily bored with the static combat systems in most of these, the random battles and grinding; I do occasionally play games like Fortune Summoners or Gurumin with more action-focused combat, I also like Zelda-style games; and sometimes even more classic-style ones, if they're shorter and funny, like South Park or Costume Quest)
- no arcarde shmups (at least not longer than a few minutes)
- probably no Dark Souls (I tried and I want to like them, but I can't help it, I just don't enjoy boss battles and punishing "checkpoint" placement)
- Rogue-likes - I *will* play them for a bit but rarely dedicate more time to them than 2-4 tries.
- no really oldschool RPGs like first Ultimas, first Might & Magic, Wizardry etc.
