rtcvb32: There's nothing wrong with 7, why should I change?

teceem: Having it online is potentially riskier (malware) than a Windows version that still gets security patches.
That said, it's probably safer for some people to have e.g. Windows XP online than for other - I click on everything/anything - people using W10.
I've found downloading from more trusted sources, disabling scripting on 99% of what i don't need, good firewall settings at the router, and not running flash (for ads) removes nearly all the headaches.

Malware that doesn't need user interaction exists though, and older versions of Windows are more at risk. (I don't know the probability of it happening.)

TomNuke: And DVD? Lol, what year is this? People still actually bother installing a DVD drive into a computer these days?
Ok, I'll just throw out my entire collection of games on disks. I mean, they still work perfectly fine and now I'll either have to re-buy them or download illegally the ones not on sale anywhere digitaly, but I guess I have to because the calendar says so.

It's always humorous getting into these discussions... There's just so much tinfoil hat speak, misinformation about what's a DRM or not, how horrible Steam or whoever else is.

And don't get me wrong, I understand the feeling with the DRM stuff, and I used to feel the same way to an extent, but I just don't care anymore. I just want to enjoy the games, and I'm not letting something like an app or launcher keep me from that. I just value my leisure time way too much to get hung up on that crap anymore.

I wish it was different, and every game was on every store and people could make their own choice, but that's not reality and it never will be. Life's short, and your time is valuable, so why worry about DRM nonsense? And seriously, compatibility issues are of far greater concern than a non-issue "DRM" like Steam in the future.

Anyways, guys, it was a fun conversation, but I bought some *sort of* seasonal games today on Steam, and I want to start up one of them in particular :)

Don't take things so seriously :)

Anything you say? Or just some things? Which ones? Can I choose? Can I borrow that line? Will it work in court?

Is your calendar demonically possessed? :-P

I've been watching the last episodes of the second season of Evil yesterday. I'd recommend it to you - but you're an internet stranger and I don't know what you like.

This might all be a bit off topic... but uh... don't take things so seriously! (trying out my new line)

Only in this one.

No, but it says the year is 2021, which is apparently pronounced twenty twenty-burn-your-DVDs.

GOG community: Complains about Hitman having online DRM unlockables until it's taken down.

Also GOG community: Almost silent about scamware Subverse and projects that will never be finished like Kona still being on the store.

Never change.

I get it, even if the word 'burn' is a bit ill-chosen here. ;-)

Me neither, but it looks like a wicker man.

If you post something and you know the replies to it in advance, does that mean that you don't have any free choice on what to write?
