Several thousand years of evolved human nature isn't going to suddenly change, just because a loud vocal minority group of social activists wants it so bad.

The thing that really boggles my mind though, is not why a vocal minority of activists are trying to push something that doesn't make sense. I expect that. It's why so many corporate publishing executives seem to be listening to them.
Follow the money behind the loans keeping the developers afloat, and you have your answer.

I meant more so that they act prudish, in order to be able to control people in various ways.

You might also thinking "Who cares?" or "How is this relevant for GOG?". Then you are reading the posts. You see certain keywords there. "Oh! It is this type of thread again." The type of thread where you see the same usernames which are present in similar threads with these certain keywords. And when you see that people are happy and celebrate that a game failed you might question the age of some users here. It is childish.

I get secondhand embarrassment from this thread.

Sarang: They needed to say NO to Spirits on the first go and say he needed to make a movie based on FF6 or 4. That would have guaranteed the audience needed but when someone is that successful they never say no.
I still need/want to see that film. You think it's any good?
I've played the game somewhat(need to finish it), and even with it's dated graphics i'd say it looks miles better than Concord.

It's amazing how bad something can fail when all the characters are butt-ass ugly and uninteresting. Being woke certainly turned a lot of people off too. That and it didn't look fun at all.

If they wanted to make a hero shooter, they should have made super-simple polygon characters, like Minecraft or PS1 level of characters; Get the powers abilities and character concepts working, get the game mechanics to work, get it working within 3-6 months, playtest and refine; And winners update and replacing the models. Also have a single-player and home lan play option, else when the server goes down the game goes down.
